I put his stat block in the first post here, and added him to the Character Compendium.

Based on card stats right now, he will have same amount of health as Human Torch, since they both have lvl 15 base health of 665.

As I see it right now. 5 in purple is probably gonna be madatory unless AP cost goes up. If blue stays at a 4CD tile, then 5/3/5 looks to be the build. If blue CD cost goes down at higher levels, to say at least 2, then maybe 3/5/5, but my gut says 5/3/5 will be the more desirable build, just because blue seems to be situational, not only do you have to have so much AP, but the other team needs to have tiles out. Also if Redwing's blue tile gets destroyed can he cast again?

It's hard to predict blue because we don't know what changes for higher level. It might be able to remove more tiles (in particular, if it can remove CD it'd be pretty powerful), or if it'll require less time, or if it'll require less blue AP in stock. Yellow and purple seem like solid abilities for sure though so 5/3/5 is probably very safe unless blue turns out to do something crazy at level 5.

It seems to me that blue would actually have the more interesting upgrade options, reduced AP and CD.

Too early to say, but if his purple is just linear power increase, I'm thinking 5/5/3. An extra 100dmg reduction is nice, but at that point just minmax. It depends what bonuses the lvl5s provide. I may very well end up going 4/4/5 if his lvl 5s are neglible like Ares, for example.

Redwing's Blue Countdown tile is used as a Cooldown. While it's out, he can't go out and eat another special tile. If that tile is matched or the cooldown hits again, he'll fly another time assuming you've hit the base AP required for his flight. At Level 5, it's currently set to affect Strike, Protect, Attack, or Countdown tiles with a base of 5 AP for activation and a 3 turn Countdown tile for use.
  • For Yellow, I wonder if it raises the base strength or the new/updated strength. In other words, if I have 3 Strike tiles and keep matching yellow will it keep increasing their strength by 30% each time? Or will it increase them only the first time and subsequent matching has no effect since they are already increased 30%?

This is a cool mechanic: race to match your own random blue countdown tile, instead of trying to prevent it from being matched. Similarly, try to avoid an enemy Falcon tile, instead of trying to match it away.

EDIT: L5 blue actively negating enemy countdowns is a killer PVE ability. If a PVE happens to let you use CMags/MN Mags... icon_e_biggrin.gif

Thanks for the info - certainly seems like it will be quite efficient then. icon_cool.gif
Glad it didn't go for the blanket "any special tile", because it would have been annoying to have Spidey's endless Web tiles covering for his Protect ones.

Certainly a very interesting character indeed; would definitely like covers, but don't think he's a guy to level until you have a 3* Strike and/or Attack tile specialist levelled also.
  • He'd definitely be very good in PvE then, and even against certain PvP matchups against characters with strong special tiles.
  • I can see him making a great team with Mr. Rodgers, and Mr. Castel.

With the blue at 5 colors, he'd be completely broken for PvE with c.mags.

I'm not seeing the use of his purple (other than the fact that the only good purples are mags, GSW and OBW), with his yellow being a multiplier, you want quality, not quantity.
  • Since he does buff attack/protect/strike tiles....he'll do well with doom, patches, bullseye, daken and anyone else that can lay down tiles. heck...even modern storms BLACK would get a buff. Not a bad passive but does highly depend on your line up. he can sort of one man engine since he can lay down protect tiles but that just draws out the game..

would bullseyes passive conflict with the protect tiles laid down by falcon?

Now that I think about it, LazyDaken/LazyThor/Falcon is going to be crazy. Daken gives you a cheap outlet to use Falcon's yellow on. Thor gives you an absurd yellow and green outlet to use all the yellow AP you're going to get..... Yeah thats going to be my new A team.
    My thoughts exactly.

Can someone explain what the blue CD does once it runs down? I am not getting it from the description...

Edit, I see IceIX explained blue CD is a cooldown effect. I'm really liking Falcon's potential, seems like a very balanced offense/defense support character. His cover is uninspiring but his abilities may win me over. icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • I just noticed but being able to match the CD to use blue again is not as good as it sounds, because that's only possible if you could've matched that tile already! It's probably going to be better in PvP than PvE because the number of special tiles is limited in PvP compared to the CD spam in PvE battles, though of course you also need the opponent to have at least one special tile for the ability to be of any use.
  • And you need to decide if you want to bring another outlet for blue. Probably not since you need some blue ap stored up but there is synergy with caps blue there.

But even that is only great in pve.
  • Boooooooorrrring character

I think it's less useful in PvE than it sounds because it can only pick a random one and goons spam a ton of CDs. It'd be more useful against say, Punisher, and it'd be very useful against Captain America, who has one of the most devastating CDs in the game in the sense that if you don't get rid of it, it's pretty much self-sustaining forever.
  • What do people think of this one - Falcon/LazyThor/Psylocke.

To begin, you have rainbow actives. Psylocke produces single, high-value strike *and* attack tiles for Falcon's yellow. The best bit, however, is that her blue becomes semi-useful. With a rainbow team, it doesn't matter what AP the tile steals, you can find a use for it. In the unlikely event that you accumulate much more blue AP than you need for Falcon over the course of a match, you have a useful outlet. Thor, of course, just sits and spams his yellow and green happily. As an added bonus, he can even tank red for Psylocke.

I would probably go 5/3/5 Falcon for this build, but if I ever max Falcon, I'm going to open a another slot for a second copy of him to go 3/5/5. A PvP Falcon and a PvE Falcon.

There's not much reason to use a character simply for the sake of using the character.

Lazy Thor is immensely powerful by himself and really doesn't benefit from any kind of special tiles since all his moves already do crazy damage, making contribution from strike tiles relatively little. The Punisher is still strictly stronger than Psylocke even if Falcon very slightly favors Psylocke. However it won't really matter until you have 15 red AP for 2 strike tiles. 1 strike tile + 1 attack tile is no better than just boosting 3 of Punisher's strike tiles since The Punisher starts out with more powerful strike tiles.

I don't really see Falcon fitting a general all purpose team. About the best you can do is pair him up with The Punisher and it might still be lacking somewhere. However he will be strong against certain characters since he can remove special tiles, so he might make sense to sub in when you fight someone like The Punisher or Captain America.

*Goes back to re-read Falcon's yellow*

    Ah.

Fair enough. Bothers me a little that team synergy matters less than raw power, but I suppose that's just the way the game is. I think part of the problem is just that so few people have multiple 141s to experiment with, mostly we're just spitballing.
  • Spidey's passive purple to create protect tiles with Falcon active to create protect tiles.... sounds like a stay away defensive roster in the making.
