Galactus completely turns off turn0 wins, and I'd pay quite a bit to get him before everyone else does.Kinda - he mainly just dies more slowly after the rest of his team is KOed on turn 0. I have faced some Galactuses in PVP already (not fully covered, but at least 1 of each color) and with some careful management of who he hits, its a slow victory, but is also a fun challenging wrinkle for pvp.
It's a slow victory though, and that's really all that matters. He doesn't kinda turn off turn0 wins, he 100% shuts them off. It doesn't matter if he doesn't do anything, because it takes a bunch of turns to kill him.
Honestly one has to kind of think that it's at least a slight possibility that they made Hawkeye able to kill anyone, sort of kind of with supports etc, on purpose to make Galactus more appealing.
In any case, a nightmare scenario would be if the AI was really good at using Hawkeye and could play forever trying to kill your Galactus, and it has no "retreat" or "eff it, I guess my turn's over" option so you were forced as a player to retreat yourself or watch an infinite turn of Hawkeye futilely trying to win.
Thank goodness the AI sucks, huh?
I can virtually guarantee they were not thinking about Galactus when they buffed Hawkeye. The developers of this game have never, not once, ever, demonstrated that kind of thinking when they design characters. When they try to make counters they are both incredibly obvious and incredibly ineffective. When they try to make combos it's the same thing. There is just not a shred of evidence in the game's entire history that shows them thinking about the game in this way.

The AI caused complete chaos during Falcon's recent PvP (well assuming players were using Sam Wilson and not the new 5* Falcon) for the 1a5 Hawkeye teams with 550 Shang Chi. I had one fight where the AI was generating soooooo much purple but absolutely refused to fire Shang's deadly hands and kept using Bird strike. It was hilarious - it is probably good we can't watch the AI play our own teams, we would be constantly mad with the game!

It won't. Demiurge used to talk about how terrible the AI was (so they do know!) but they trialled improving it a few times and it turns out that playing against a mildly competent opponent breaks the game.

No one from the Devs have said anything about this? The whole point of the game right now for old players is covering 6s and if we can only get shards for one… what a mess

I think they did say they're aware of it but don't know how to fix it.

The devs are traditionally tight-lipped about things like reward rotations etc.
Even the old standard (until recently, I guess) of running PVE essentials as LLLCC was never an officially announced plan but just a thing we players observed, recorded (mentally, on the forum etc).
I've already said what I think the plan is and Cosmic Chaos has new essentials, a new boost list, all of the things you expect but the same 6, good old Cosmic Ghost Rider. All they have to do is change the reward table shards for CGR to someone else - just like they do for all the other characters you are getting shards for in the event. The devs seem to be getting the hang of this pretty well and I am sure they can swap out CGR whenever they feel like it.
If they DID decide to put CGR in for a while - either until the next 6 releases, or maybe doing a month at a time, or whatever - they almost certainly would not tell us explicitly.
This is because uncertainty and doubt and worry about FOMO drives spending behavior to a large degree. Telling us their plan is counter to creating an environment which benefits FTP business practices in a game like this, with random pulls being the main way you get covers.
What offers are coming up? They will never explicitly tell you - for that exact reason. To make you want to spend money now in case it doesn't come up for longer than you want to wait. Offers are more interesting and exciting when they surprise you, and more appealing when they are for things you can't get easily (costumes for example, a thing that many players who buy nothing else will buy).
Making Galactus and Cosmic Spidey hard to get makes people more willing to spend money on shards when they are offered. Making the offers infrequent makes you more willing to spend NOW because you might need to wait weeks to make progress again.

Are 6 star characters a factor for anyone yet? I have never come across one in the wild, and for whatever reason I only have a 101 Galactus without the other two even rostered.

I completely forgot about the damage reduction and was like "Why won't Galactus die?!?!" in one of the battles but otherwise they are not dangerous offensively at the level I have encountered. Likewise I don't have either of the other two rostered yet.

(They replaced it as soon as they came back in with a one time clearable vault - this was in.....early December maybe?)
The vault was open for about 12 days so basically no one jumped on it immediately besides daily deal pulls but this whale used their hoard of HP and just kept pulling so got a boatload of Galactus shards. Then last month there was the Galactus costume/shard chain bundle offering 300 shards for like $110 or $120 (I don't know what 3rd level cost). So the whale is the one (legit) player with a 13 cover Galactus in the game.
Yeah, they use their Galactus, obviously. The devs have no interest in making everyone else able to get Galactus covered, so they are enjoying - for the foreseeable future - a permanent 6* advantage over everyone else.
You'd need to be in 550 land and play in their slice (I have no idea which one) or high up in Simulator to run into them.

I think here are actually two out there with (legit) 13 cover Galactus. I've run into both and tried one for fun. It was a bloodbath (I lost). Definitely avoid at all costs unless you want to see what happens.

They could just fight each other til the of time.

If this is their nefarious plan (and it's not, you are in way too deep on this conspiracy) then we should start seeing lots of Galactus and Spiderman offers soon, right? When was the last time they even offered Spiderman for sale?
If they don't start selling those guys soon, I suppose that also proves your theory?

Making meta or strongly desired character offers rare/infrequent is how they've run the game for...basically its entire existence, other than sometimes when we get a bunch of meta offers all at Anniversary. This keeps players around.
6s are done at 13 right now. They are a brand new tier and the devs don't really know how players would and will respond to offers, but offer too many of them and you risk people feeling done with the game because they're the ultimate endgame characters. Offer them frequently and people can get picky as well as becoming bored/offers seeming routine. No other characters were offered (initially) as frequently as 6s despite them being somewhat rare because there are only a 3 of them.
Also of course the devs want to try to find a way to maximize spending/purchases of each offers.
6s launched and people spent in October last year, more than in any other month in 2025. The next two months the spending returned to the exact same level it was at throughout most of 2025 despite launching additional 6s in both of the months. So by the measure of bringing in money, they failed because players didn't spend any more on the Ultimate Tier than we'd spent on 4s and 5s etc all year before them.
The offers so far - at least most of them - seem ridiculous and stupid to many people and the cost per shard seemed too expensive AND the number of shards were pitifully low at like 25-50. It's not very appealing to most players at all to buy like $50 of stuff and get 25 spidey shards or something.
If you're in charge of marketing these Ultimate Chase characters you want people to get excited about offers. If they're laughing, you messed up and you need a new approach.
Like, taking some of them out of rewards and making the offers even rarer but having more punch (bigger numbers of shards available in one offer, like the Galactus costume bundle did).
So yeah, my theory is they shifted strategies because we thought their initial one was an basically an unappealing joke.

@bluewolf there is no time when they've ever made "meta" characters any harder to obtain than any other character. In fact those characters are often available much more frequently than the bad ones!
m'Thor was in Latest the same as everyone else. She was in placement and progression rewards as often as everyone else. Where are you getting this stuff?
If they designed "meta" characters to be better than others, they might do this! It would be good business! But they don't, which is why they've never made anybody harder to get than anybody else. They know some characters are popular, so they offer them more often.

If obtaining the meta characters is so challenging why do I have most of them level 500+? I don't bonus shard anybody particularly over another character unless I am trying to champ them. The game has just literally given me more covers for the likes of Shang, Jane and Kang than it has Iron Man or Hulk.
As for value for money this game sold $75 costumes in the past and somebody was buying them.

It is not like I will play them any time soon (I have 2 cover Galactus and now 1 cover GR), but it is what is making me play more often and in SCL10. It is a more “appealing carrot” than simply getting more 5s, so in my particular case only having GR available is BAD
