In the dark corners of Shadowmoor, where everything is affected by the great aurora, staying true to your identity can pay off!

Color Identity will be looking at which colors your planeswalker is in order to determine which effect will be executed.
It's worth remembering that colorless planeswalkers have no color identity (as they lack colors).

Shadowmoor will contain 5 cards from the Mystic Gate cycle, each one boosting an allied color pair combo.

So, which color identity pair are you looking forward to powering once Shadowmoor reaches Magic Puzzle Quest?

These seem spicy. They're colorless so they go in any deck, multiple at a time; the mana cost is just a one-turn payback; they give a minimum 8 mana, which is essentially a free swap (or two) for multi-colored PW. They're a low-ceiling/high-floor land - doesn't have the upside of mass conversion (cascades/loyalty/activated gem triggers), but can just as often give enough mana to play other cards quickly. Probably among the best 8-mana investments you can make in this game since there are no strings attached.

    That's a very cool cycle!

Beyond these cards, which seem interesting, it would be great to include many more cards with the color identity mechanic. Cards that are more powerful or versatile the fewer colors the PW has, thus balancing the significant disadvantage that mono-colored PWs have compared to those that can choose the best cards from three colors, for example. This way, there could be cards that are quite useful in a three-color deck, somewhat better in a two-color deck, and significantly more powerful in a mono-color deck. This would allow for decks to be built with the same cards, but by changing the PW (due to its number of colors), they could be more powerful or work better with certain mechanics or playstyles. This would also boost sales of more PWs and prevent players from relying almost exclusively on the most popular ones (Aminatou and Grist, for example).

It does seem like Webcore have avoided giving any of these lands to a top tier Planeswalker, doesn't it... then again let's just wait and see if they make the remaining 5 enemy color versions of these lands from Eventide in a later set, and give both Grist and Dack one...

Considering the lands being printed in Lorentz Eclipsed are 5 shocks which we already have, I would imagine it’s the perfect place to finish the cycle
