Who else found it more than interesting that in today's 24 hr Lightning Vault you can purchase 250 Shang shards for 6000 HP (yeah there is other stuff there but that's the prime item).

I mean right after advertising a nerf a vault appears selling shards for that character?

“Interesting” is a way to put it, yeah.

I bought it. Nerf or not, champion rewards are champion rewards.

    That vault is horrendous.

If I were asked which character most needed a rebalance, then I would answer "The Mighty Thor". And that answer would not be based on gameplay experience or usage numbers, but because so many characters were immediately deemed DOA because of her mere existence. I love mThor, but it's objectively a problem if one character constantly neutralizes new releases.

@S0kun Devs clearly wanted to make the game harder. They succeeded with the SCL upgrades. More difficulty with more prizes? Nice compromise. The rollout could have been smoother, but that could be said for literally everything that's happened over the past year. So overall, good job. Were the nerfs part of that "make everything harder" effort?

Because if Mthor, Polaris, and Shang were "game-breakingly" powerful, wouldn't they also be META instead of just popular and fun. We all know they're not meta, so nerfing them changed very little for competitive players, while making life harder for the little guys. However, if they truly were nerfed for being "too strong" (even though they weren't META) why not buff "counters" like Gorr, Moondragon, and Black King?

    • Have Black King's charged tile removal trigger at the beginning of the game.
    • Change Gorr's "Your Own Weapons" to a minimum of 2 tile placements, and have it trigger immediately upon placement.
    • Change Moondragon's "Pyrrhic Defense" so the SAP damage reduction is part of the always on passive instead of tied to the countdown.

Was anything like that considered? If so, I think we'd all love to hear why that wasn't the path taken instead of the nerf bat.

PS - For context, I don't run Polaris, Mthor or Shang. Pre-nerf, they were all too weak for my MMR. But in 4* land, they all put genuine smiles on my face. So much fun! Sad to see them smacked with the bat.

Totally agree. Horrible use of HP.

I find it had to believe just because grocket is older that they wouldn’t be looking at data for the last 6 months to a year and go, well May is a problem more than grocket.

How is May a problem when she dies in one hit?

Grocket has never been a problem.

May will give a lvl700 Galactus like a million HP, and even if you kill her in in one hit, he keeps the health forever. That enough of a "problem?"

6000 HP is basically free, I bought it without even looking. What else am I gonna spend it on?

Not for me, and not for you either. You have a much better roster than I do, and I beat 1mil health characters multiple times a week. And at this point, the game will die before we see a (legitimate) lvl700 Galactus.

edit: SCL10 CN Ironman had something like 1.2 mil health this week. Beat him.

Galactus can only be hit for 50k damage per turn. I suppose you could just bring Darkveil and win the fight immediately without doing anything, but that's probably on its way out too.

May needs to die, and hopefully she will soon. She's way too strong when paired with single high-level characters, and she gets worse when she's ascended.
