    Update: a single black cover is absolutely useless. Guess I’ll check in again when he has more meat on his bones.

    I've also managed to unlock a cover and roster him, but I'm now wondering if that was such a good idea. At lvl 500 he is by far the highest, the rest of the pack starts at 485 or so, with most sitting below 480. Hope it doesn't screw my MMR completely.
    If you're in similar shoes, just leave him as shards, it's not like one cover does much.
    I might leave the upcoming 6* releases as just shards when I get them.

    Generally speaking adding a character to your roster who isn’t leveled doesn’t impact your MMR whatsoever.

    It may seem weird that ascended characters do but they are effectively champed when you get them.

    One cover on G can’t even be leveled up at all; if their past practice holds then a 500 6 won’t be part of your MMR calculation.

    This seems like a fairly straightforward thing that the devs could address in some form of statement if they were interested.

    What @bluewolf said, but also I don't believe there's going to be a significant difference between 485 and 500 anyway. It's just not able to be that granular with the fights it's choosing.

    My black-only one was un-stunnable vs a Chasm, and I was up against a high level Omega Red who was able to use his red on me up to a point, then galactus started getting the green healthbar flash, but he has 5* health with the single cover, and it isn't all that impressive to just wait a second turn to die against a 550 Simulator team.

    I guess @KGB can never roster him or any other 6 star, as it would mess with their softcapping?

    Thats my plan even if I get enough for 13 covers. I can smash through this new harder pve with no issues with my current characters. Unless they make it even harder I don't see the point of putting myself in a very select few with my MMR.

    If you happened to have farmed 5 covers worth of galactus it's probably wise to leave them as shards so no one can see them. Same with the next release :D

    I don't have a covers worth yet, but I'm not focusing on chasing or caring about them.

    In a fairly random teaming I put Galactus with 5* Namor and 5* Magneto.

    The cascades were insane and could become never ending if I played smart.

    I used them on the Tower nodes this evening in an effort to try something different.

    It was a ton of fun.

    Galactus contributed absolutely nothing.

    Note: I opted for the purple cover with my shards (solely because I had seen others saying they started with the other colors and I wanted to check out the AP generation possibilities) and hoped to see the purple passive speed up other character's powers.
