8 is equivalent to old 10.

Meaning 7 is equivalent to old 9.

These two "new" levels have better rewards.

I figured that was the case. New rewards for harder enemies. I might go with scl7

People being able to farm Galactus shards seems like a big problem. Especially since the main player base will take months to cover him.

Sure, but there must be tons of players who don’t intentionally abuse this and are affected by this as a genuine game bug. They still will get extra shards. Even without farming. Will they be rolled back?

It's hard to get too worked up about somebody getting 25 or 50 extra shards or whatever (for me anyway, maybe somebody else could make an argument).

That's not what matters though -- somebody out there is absolutely already farming 13 covers, and it'll get defended with the usual "well I just did it by accident, not my fault!"

Getting even one cover for Galactus is huge. There are genuine players out there who, because of how they have played for years, get the quests reset daily because of a bug. Daily 75 extra shards of Galactus since launch = a full cover before the quest timers ends in 2ish days.

They won’t be rolled back and shouldn’t be. Still a big impact on the game if they go for placement.

Yes, that matters to me. Yes, I am allowed to get worked up over that. We can argue what the impact is in the long term, sure. Maybe it won’t matter. But the fact that the bug is still here is pissing me off and reflects terribly on the Devs

If you care that much about the 25 shards then push for those players to be sandboxed. I'm ok with it, but I could understand if someone else wasn't (and I said that...)

I'm not sure why the cheating discussions always get so heated on here.

Things get heated because you willfully misrepresent what others are saying.

Status: anyone who uses multiple devices in their regular play style will get quests reset. If they complete those Galactus quests daily before the time runs out, they get enough shards for a free Galactus cover. Anyone playing on one device does not.

Status: the devs knew about this and didn’t fix it.

Opinion: these players are doing nothing wrong and are not abusing the game.

Opinion: at this point I’m the game getting a free Galactus cover in the first week of release is a big deal

Opinion: I am pissed at the devs about not fixing this.

For anyone else still reading: I still think it sucks that the dev keep bugs in the game that creates an uneven player base, just because of your devices you use. Didn’t mean it to explode either.

I feel like you're misunderstanding what EB said, because I didn't read any of that.

What he said was he personally doesn't care much about it. At no point did he say how anyone else should feel and i have no idea how you read that in what he said.

Although I don’t fully agree with you and still believe EB uses aggravating rhetorical techniques on purpose, your response and those from others clearly indicate I should take a break from these forums.

New 10 will make me think about which 5-star characters I have at high level before choosing the level.

Oddly enough, I seem to have the old scaling on this event playing at CL10, despite getting the new progression rewards. I also have a previous set of required characters on the nodes — Elsa Bloodstone instead of Nova, for instance.

I’m on release 331, playing on iPad, and on the time-slice that refreshes at 10PM British Summer Time (I think that’s 5PM Eastern Time.)

I have no idea what triggers it other than changing devices. I play at work on a phone from time to time and home on an ipad. I get screwed out of completing rewards lots too. Like the fantastic series or challenges. I win on others like this one where I got 40 extra shards. It's not like I'm going to be rocking even one cover or even want one. I'm more than happy to give back those 40 shards and they can reward me all the ones they robbed me of from resetting sometimes.

I cannot imagine anyone calling 40 shards an "exploit" and I really don't see any situation where they'd come after you for them.

40 shards is significantly different than 4,000 shards though, and I'm sure someone has already farmed 4000+.

Moon girl/ dr strange and whoever the 3rd character giving out galactus shards as part of the quests are on my pve clear team hence all the accidental galactus shards.

The other one was Beta Ray Bill. I completed the quests and gotten the shards. Then the quests disappeared. No reset for me, but I don't mind.
