Holy Ship! A Friday Multiman Guide!

Multiman4 ascended to 5
Due to my recently witnessed lack of love and understanding for ascended Multiman, I have wasted too much time making this for you.
I believe him to be Top Tier (PVP offense), not because he is the fastest (though he can definitely win fast), but because he refuses to lose (regardless of who he fights) and is crazy versatile (he can carry a lot of characters).
I will try to showcase this below. I hope you get some value, or at least entertainment out of it.
(Multi)Laymans Terms
Black (5):
Passive: Get hit, create dupe tiles. Dupes overwrite enemy SAPs plus increase his match damage and defense. 48 or more dupes = Conditional Win.
Yellow (3):
Active: Select a color, drain your AP in that color and make dupes on it.
Passive: Each color dupe does a different thing, but you only care about:
- Blue = protect tiles
- Green = strike tiles
- Black = countdowns that damage the entire enemy team, and YOU
Green (5):
Active: Drain your green AP to destroy dupes at 2 AP per dupe. This heals you and gives some of the AP back.
PlayStyles w/ Example Videos!
Conditional Win
Example: https://youtube.com/shorts/I4Odq1-LYJY?si=mDm_HJ9gJT7lqN5w
Overview:
- Probably his main use-case currently (as you know). Start with as much AP as possible, spam his yellow on every color until you win (requires good generators).
Teammates: Coulson4-5, Rir5, Kang5, Hawkeye5, Chasm5
Supports: Krakoa, any starting AP, Refreshment Cart, Cuckoos
Hard Counter Starting AP / Permanent AP Steal / Rainbow Spam
Example: https://youtube.com/shorts/Wl5_IMbJ73A (pulled from my PVP guide)
Overview:
- Able to cast an active ability for any color at 2AP, MM is the most ability spam character in the game. Due to this, when he is equipped with the Cuckoos support, as long as you start the match with 2 AP in any color, you can drain their AP whenever you'd like. The enemy team can basically NEVER cast an active ability (as long as MM is alive).
- There are also plenty of characters who trigger their abilities based off teammates casting active abilities, this can be very useful and make for fun teams.
Teammates: Any mutant is guaranteed to start you with AP thanks to Krakoa support, Coulson4-5, Riri5, Magic4, Beast4-5, DareDevil4
Supports: Stepford Cuckoos, Krakoa, any starting AP, Refreshment Cart
SAP Specialist AND! Anti-Special Tile Specialist
Example: https://youtube.com/shorts/Tn_zQjfT_1w?si=xdpR1Ze6TjWMZRaE
Overview:
- MM creates his own SAPs everytime he creates a dupe on Blue, Green or Red (he creates A LOT of dupes). Your teammates also see these tils and can buff them (when they are buffed they get converted to proper SAP tiles).
- Characters like Beast4 and Blob4 also still count them towards their passives.
- A regular match 3 can't destroy them, it must be a match 4 or higher, making them more resilient. Converting them will expose them, and they dupe version can still be destroyed (Mthor, Juggy1 etc.).
- Per his Yella, every time Polaris, JuggerSam etc. hit you, you overwrite SAPs they create. Every time dupes are created by you, they also have a chance to overwrite ANY special tile on the board. This is big for shutting down any spam, charge tiles included. Note you also overwrite your own tiles, so pay attention!
Teammates: Blob4, Beast4, Betsy4, Magic4, HoneyBadger3, Spidermay5, Nico4, Kity5, Hotpool5… anyone who likes SAPs.
Supports: Cuckoos (always?), Lucky, Low Level AI, Krakoa, Refreshment Cart, starting AP for blue or green
Tank / Healer
Example: https://youtube.com/shorts/FDZmEfc0xf0?si=2bjSfBoU0COlYiVO
Overview:
- MM gets tankier with every dupe, blue dupes are protect tiles and he is a high tier self-healer.
- On top of all of that, dupe tiles don't count when they are part of a match 3, so enemy match damage is regularly reduced. AAAAND your dupes slow their AP gain (or you steal it), reducing any active ability risk.
Teammates: Blob4, Beast4, Agatha5, Agatha3, Magic4, anyone with Green as their strongest color wearing RefreshCart (big time green battery for healing)
Supports: Cuckoos, Refreshment Cart, Lucky, any healing buffs

Thank you for this! I've known for a while he's supposed to be great but never could wrap my head around how to use him!

This is the kind of content we need right now, awesome work!

I love this post! He’s mentioned above, but I wanted to highlight MM’s synergy with Daredevil4a5 on account of Daredevil’s red passive that deals damage for each friendly trap tile on the board. Equip Refreshment Cart or Avengers Tower on DD, a yellow/purple AP support on your third, start with 2 AP on all colors and MM/DD will usually go winfinite and down the enemy team with passive damage before ascended MM hits his win condition.
MM/DD + Sunspot/Elsa/Arcade/effin Talos are all fun and cheap trap tile-based teams, but Sinister with Refreshment Cart is safest if you want to mitigate damage. Sinister gets a limitless amount of black AP to reduce damage + DD’s true heal makes for a pretty safe team for tougher fights.

Thank you for the guide. I feel like Multiple man / Coulson is the gadget team for a refined experience.
Not as clumsy or random as KangVeil; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.

This is exactly what I have been wanting.

This was my first thought was it's how I usually use MM.

Really appreciate the writeup. My Multiman isn't ascended yet (one at 370 and another at 280) so will be awhile before I use him at this level. But thanks for the detailed description.

This was great.
Now I’m imagining Multple Man and the sisters, and Galactus, pulling AP back and forth saying “Nuh-uh! My AP!” Over and over.

Talos secretly has one of the best stun powers in the entire game after his buff -- it's between him and Widow's Sting, and it's pretty close.

Excellent guide, and format for such! Thank you!!!

Today was kind of the first chance I had to use him in PvP (I only use boosted characters) and oh boy he's a blast. Mine is lvl480 unboosted. I wasn't able to find a fun team where he tanked, but getting him to take damage is pretty easy against a wall of Juggernaut/Sam. His black dupe power was my favorite -- they hit crazy hard paired with Little Sister and his green dupe strike tiles.
