Surely remove this from screen is a easier fix. Clearly can't fix the constant crashing.

I think they said something about having that there was helping with fixing bugs so they knew the exact version of data that is live. No idea how it helps but something was mentioned.

Yes because occasionally they actually fix bugs or intend to, it helps if a bug report clearly has the build number in the screenshot because lots of people may report things from old builds erc.

I expect the build number to be on screen for a long, long time.

From the AMA: "That's literally just the current build, the data patch it's running on, and the server it's pointed at. That way when we get screenshots for any bugs, we can know exactly where we should be looking at in terms of code versions for an issue. That'll be going away in a couple builds at most."

It has been a couple of months and we've had several builds, but is the product really that stable? In software development and bug hunting in a live system, this information is invaluable, especially when working through a backlog of defects that are no longer "fresh". Even just knowing the day a bug was raised is not always good enough, especially if that is around the same time as a new build was released. Was the bug raised from the old build? Is it still present in the new build? Easily determined if a screenshot/video is provided.
Unless things change dramatically, I would expect to be seeing in the new year with the build information still on-screen.

Honestly, if the version number is our worst problem, game must be perfectly fine…

Crashed twice now when opening covers. No fun.
