Maybe in this case DOA means Days Of Apocalypse? Incoming 5* Nate Grey!

It's small, but the entire description has arrived.

This is ridiculous I keep seeing seeing seed teams even after updating to 329.. this game is D.O.A. UnacceptableBright side: it's very easy to get the rewards from those seed teams, and they do run out eventually, which allows you to then earn points from player teams that are still hitting the seed teams with non-meta teams.
It really is a boon with the right perspective.
It's the most acceptable glitch/bug/whatever affecting the game.

But it's actually not fun. Is it really fun to just beat seed teams over and over and over and over again? Personally, I think not.

I think it is. I even use different characters I funny normally get to use...
Especially after the seed teams are gone and there are a bunch of non-meta player teams I normally never see...I'm kidding me teams, facing new teams... That's fun because I'm not restricted to needing to use the same meta teams everyone else uses out of necessity.
I'm sorry if that's not fun for you. It is for me.

I find it helpful on a practical level too. Win 15 matches with random 4* on your team? No problem! Only have 15 mins to play on a break? 25 wins!
Besides, there are a few real players to hit too. Something for everyone.

It also makes defending your bracket placement nearly impossible. If someone is climbing near me and I can see them in bracket, I need to be able to attack them to protect my spot. Right now, just finding a match against a target is insanely difficult and requires tons of skips.
If your response to this is "who cares, I don't compete in PvP so this doesn't affect me," well, I don't compete in PvE so the Strange Sights screwup didn't affect me. I can still see how it'd be a problem for those who do.

@S0kun thanks for picking the cover I like. Unless it was decided ahead of time.

I actually think it highlights the difference in perspective.
If your concern is primarily placement, and something affects your ability to actively target someone in order to protect your placement, you would be understandably perturbed.
Those who want to place well but don't feel the need/desire to hunt any player close to them might be less perturbed but still frustrated.
Those who are focused on fun might find fun regardless of placement through team selection or even just a break from the monotony of seeing the same teams repeatedly.
And there are likely other perspectives completely separate from these...
That guy who loves 5*Wasp has the opportunity to field her successfully in PVP like never before, just as an example.
We can each have different perspectives without erasing anyone else's experience/opinions on the matter... We can all disagree and all still be right because we're talking about how it affects us individually.
Aside from that, regardless of how well our individual needs are affected, we can each choose to make the most of what's currently available.
I'm sorry you can't hunt down competitors in an optimized fashion. (Truly... It sounds riveting) I hope you're able to resume sooner than later. In the meantime...I lost count of how many different teams I've used in PVP the last week or so and it is glorious.

That's funny, because once I'm near the top of the leaderboard, the whales don't seem to have much problem hitting me. I just got 5-tapped by the same player.

Dunno, wasn't it supposed to get fixed today? I haven't played any PvP yet.
I haven't 5-tapped the same person since they broke this, and it wasn't because I wasn't trying to.

I mean... It's definitely not fixed. I did a quick 80 wins on nothing but seeds, seals, and assorted easy targets. But it seems like, if you want it badly enough, you can find someone and hit them repeatedly. I'm not saying it's easy, and like I said, it happened TO me and only once I was at the top of the leaderboard. This is not something I did or tried to replicate.

I wanted it badly, and have tried pretty hard though! Skipping tens of times wasn't enough -- maybe it would take hundreds.
There's probably something else going on. Could be difference in slices, time of day etc, or maybe that person just really, really, really hates you!

Yes. Yes, it is. This game is basically a fidget spinner for me.

100% agree.
The thing I don't understand...(I'm not saying you're wrong about saying you're bored with it) ... Is what makes it boring?
The goal for a while now seems to be finding teams that can defeat enemy teams easily within 0-3 turns depending on the meta. There are entire threads devoted to outlining teams/builds/supports that are capable of beating various meta teams as quickly and easily as possible.
In the current State off PVP... That goal is easily obtained.
And everyone else faces the same issues of points earned, being able to find specific targets, etc...
People weren't trying to have difficult fights before this. They were trying to find the answer to making difficult fights winnable faster.
Is it just not as fulfilling because you want to feel powerful when easily beating a meta team and seed teams don't give the same feeling?
Is it a matter of wanting to earn more points per match?
Do the seed teams just feel beneath you and not needing to use the most powerful teams make it feel not worth your time?
Maybe none of these things?
I'm genuinely curious.

The seed teams are easily beatable by anyone. With any team. I didn't spend time to get 550 characters just to whallop on seed teams. That's boring. I want to go up against teams that pose a bit of a challenge. Yes, I can just beat the seed teams over and over and over again. But "whopp de doo!". That is not fun for me. At all.

PvE is boring and PvE enemies are incredibly weak, for someone like me with a strong roster. PvP is where I get to fight (roughly) equals.
Yes, I want to win those fights quickly. Beating a strong team quickly is satisfying. It's achieving something. Beating a seed team quickly is meaningless. It's PvE. I understand this is a minority opinion, because most players here don't enjoy the match-3 gameplay.
Also, the current state of the game takes metagaming completely off the table. PvP is fun because there's a layer of strategy to it that has nothing to do with winning matches, since everyone wins every match anyway.
