Points in pvp...

PVP score is likely to match how challenging is a match.I play Level 10 and get usually points rewards of even 70 and more points if the opponent is strong.
The issue these days is that you can skip some opponents and in the end you get a streak of 25/30 or more bot opponents with entry level (the ones you beat in 2 moves).
That's quite comfortable by now because it allows me to get more prizes and a lot of extra covers that I value because of ascended characters but I think it's not quite fair this way.
What SCL level you play makes no difference to the players you can see or what they are worth. The only thing SCL changes in pvp is the level of rewards you can earn.

Isn't it just the same thing?
Anyway it is calculated the more is difficult to beat your opponent the higher the points at stake.0 -

Let's say you have 400 points in PvP and I have 100 points. I don't know what your roster looks like but I am generally running fully maxed lvl672 boosted characters.
If I beat you I would get 60something points. If you beat me you would get 10 or so.

But as we're playing we will be proposed stronger opponents, your case is not likely to happen.
There are teams that seem strong or problematic but they're not and you see point at stake are always lower.Anyway I was talking about a particular issue affecting PvP lately.
Does ELO table explain that?
But not Lighting Round as I'm checking by now.0 -

But not Lighting Round as I'm checking by now. This case happens constantly. Team strength/level/composition has absolutely no relation to point values. I'm not sure how we can be any more clear about this.
Matchmaking is currently broken and is due to be fixed in the next release (supposedly). The bug does not affect how points are calculated though, just who you're matched with.

But not Lighting Round as I'm checking by now. It's OK, lots of players do not understand how PVP works. Try dropping down to SCL7 for those easier teams you definitely can't fight in SCL10! In the current MMR (broken) you will definitely see more there!

I don't think you understand what I'm talking about.
You know those low level teams you front when you enter a PvP early at the beginning?
Those teams made with 1* level 10 or so characters?
Well, if you enter a PvP by now and skip opponent for some times you will have in all 3 nodes that kind of opponent and you will have them for at least a 25 to 34 wins in a row. This doesn't happen in Lighting Rounds.

PvP matchmaking changed drastically 4 or 6wks ago, it wasn't intentional. Seeing piles and piles of very weak teams is not normal, has never been this way in the history of this 12yr old game.
Supposedly, PvP will return to normal soon. For now, don't overthink what you see, as it is only temporary.
.... supposedly.
But yes, yes, for now, "that" does happen in lightning rounds. You can play dozens of matches, a few points at a time, to 400something points. It doesn't happen every time. But often enough to make them compulsively playable LOL

Lighting Round still works the old way

Lighting Round still works the old wayNot consistently. More often than not, Lightning Rounds are currently serving up seed teams and low level teams all the way from beginning to end.

We are all completely aware of what is going on. I am not looking for a fight or anything but you made factually incorrect statements about how points values works in the game under normal circumstances. Two 550 veterans (who have been playing for over a decade and have experience of points values and MMR through 0 past 1200 points on a regular basis) and myself (a 9 year veteran) tried to advise you that your post was giving incorrect information to the forum and yet you doubled down on insisting you were right. The fact that Lightning Rounds may or may not be broken does not make anything else that was said to not be true under normal circumstances. We have not been under "normal circumstances" since the Unity engine was introduced.
No offense but I don't have the time or mood right now to explain the reasonably complicated system of MMR and ELO in depth beyond what has already been said so feel free to continue with your own assumptions.
There is actually a table somewhere on the Internet that shows you exactly what points you would receive from attacking another player depending on how many points you and they have (think I last saw it on Reddit, could be wrong). The Devs have previously confirmed ELO is used but have never disclosed the exact MMR formula (for obvious reasons).
