It's hard to optimistic at this point. The only bugs that seem to be getting quashed quickly are those that have a benefit to players like the extra tokens. PvE is still frustratingly slow, with the matches often taking less time than the load in and load out process. New characters are being released so bugged that they break the game or are DOA because their abilities don't work. Crashes are still very frequent. They can't be bothered to check simple things before pushing them out like making sure the text of the daily quests actually line up with what they are requiring users to do. Even when they send out compensation it is bugged with Mr. Fantastic transitioning to Invisible Woman.

Couple that with the company bleeding money after pissing off the buy clubs and folks generally tightening purse strings because of this disaster of a launch and I'm beyond worried that the game I have loved for nearly a decade is going to fizzle out. It is a giant bummer.

If you're worried for the future of the game, you can increase revenues by spending more yourself. That's what I've been doing!

If everyone does their part then the game won't die. I guess some people don't really care if the game goes away, though.

If you feel like the product being offered right now is worth spending on by all means spend on it. If it fills you with optimism that's great, you should spend, clearly you are enjoying the product.

I was happy to spend when the game was running correctly and was not a daily series of bugs both new and old. I'm no where close to a whale but was a VIP for many years to support the game because it was a way to keep it going and I would buy packages when they were good values. There is nothing they could offer right now that would seem like a value because the game is broken. YMMV

If you're not willing to do anything about it, then it seems like you're not really all that concerned about the game ending.

If my neighbor's house was on fire and I was concerned for their safety, I'd call the fire department, or maybe go over there and try to help. I would probably not post pictures of the burning house online and say "oh no, this is terrible, I really hope their house doesn't burn down!" then go back to watching TV on my couch.

During the pandemic, I made it a point to order delivery from restaurants I used to enjoy visiting. I paid for "livestream concerts" from bands that couldn't tour, that needed the help. Was the food better than what I used to get in person? Were the concerts a "good value?" No. But I didn't want the things I liked to die, and they were in need, so I supported them.

If you care, do something. If not, then you don't care, and it's silly to pretend you do.

I'm going to take a cue from all the other folks who are clearly much smarter than me and just block you. It's clear you are only interested in trolling and I have neither the time nor the inclination to engage with your circular "logic". Best of luck to you in the future.

Maybe you should just uninstall the game instead.

Like, sorry, but this isn't circular logic and it really isn't even complicated.

If you care about MPQ surviving, then you can make that happen by giving them money.

If you have some list a million items long about why they don't deserve your money, the only sensible conclusion is that you don't care if the game dies.

And that's your right! Bad businesses fail every day, because they deserve to fail. Nobody posts thousand-word screeds about how Joe's House of Food Poisoning is going to die if he doesn't stop serving raw chicken and rancid shellfish, because he's running a terrible business and he deserves to fail.

If you think these devs are running a terrible business, then they deserve to fail too.

The game has always been some degree of mess—er, a work in progress. And yet, we're still here. Yes, survivor bias, and a whole lot of people aren't still here, but we're still here.

The game launched as a beta, barely fleshed out, a glorified demo, a functioning concept. Countless changes and optimizations over the years. Because the game has been around so long, it was determined worthy of rebuilding. Quite an investment! All systems need rebooting after enough time passes.

But the decision was made to try to rebuild it exactly, to try to force a new platform to mimic the old, rather than redevelop in line with the new platform. A nightmare assignment.

Since it was ploppt upon Steam users, a LOT of polishing has already occurred, and I expect to see more. It's already gotten "better", will (presumably) continue to polish up.

If I've been around this long ... ~3,500 days spread over 11.5yrs, sure I'll ride it out and continue to support. It's an old friend. Sometimes it's a mess, more often I'm a mess. If it was "unplayable", for whatever definition of "unplayable", I'd take a break and check back later. Have plenty of times before :D

If you want to help the game, but don't want to spend, put up a positive review in the app store.

Or don't, because you feel like that's dishonest. Or whatever.

But the game has a lot of negative reviews currently, probably partly because in general the most upset people are the ones likely to post a new or updated review right now, and partly because there has been, as we have been saying, little to nothing to notably improve the experience of playing in Unity.

Anyway that could be a way to support the game.

I don't know if I could recommend, exactly, someone starting to play it right now as many of the bugs that are being sort of looked past matter a lot less to veterans who know all the ins and outs and don't get that thrown off by the incorrect rewards screen, or the shields not displaying as active, etc. Also we have an expectation/hope that it will return to the functionality we had before whereas a new person might be better off. But for me it's far from "unplayable" as many reviews state.

    4) The game swaps some of my characters after I've selected them, even on saved teams, making some saved teams useless. As an example, I used to have a saved team for PvE easy nodes with Chasm, Rocket, and Thanos, but I don't bother anymore because every time I select it, it changes Thanos to Juggernaut.

Have you found a fix for this? After weeks of Unity with no major problems, this started happening for me yesterday out of nowhere. Except it’s a Devpool/Grocket/Thanos saved team with Thanos being replaced with Beta Ray Bill for me. So strange and random. And utterly annoying during PvE clears!
