Which 3-star to ascend to 5-star?

So I got my first 3-5 ascension. It was Deadpool, because I like him. :)

So the next question is who should be next? I have 3* Ascended Aunt May to 370, since that's the next target just because she's crazy good...

The ones I've got multiples 3-4 already, thanks to the various vaults or lucky timing when Ascension started, are:

Falcon
Dr. Strange
Kamala Khan
Magneto
Squirrel Girl
Wolverine

Any thoughts? Or should I pump Aunt May up to 5-star status, despite the drop in her abilities? I'd need to basically start her from scratch as a 3-star, so this would take a long time.

    I think most people choose Thanos or Namor as priority targets.

    As for Namor, I don't even have a second copy of him yet; my 3-star Namor is currently sitting at LVL 220. That would be a VERY long haul to get him up to 5-star.

    Yes. He doesn't stun, so his Court Death can be boosted by power boosters. He's also got way more health and his Court Death hits way harder.

    Namor is very popular to pair with m'baku.

    I'm just bonusing whichever 3* is closest to ascending. Some of them are good, some of them aren't, but they're all going to be Essentials at basically the same rate, and having 3x boosted 5* in every PvP is a big advantage.

    Did not know that about the ascended Court Death not stunning; I don't really use either version of Thanos anymore. I can see how that would be helpful being boosted by various abilities...

    I've seen plenty of Namor/M'Baku teams in PvP. While I realize his usefulness, Namor is not even close to being max champed, let alone ascended...let alone being put into 5-star territory.

    Going from closest to farthest from being maxed out, here's where the characters are:
    Kamala Khan (337/303) - 640 total levels
    Magneto (334/303) - 637
    Dr. Strange (330/303) - 633
    Falcon (350/270) - 620
    Patch (313/303) - 616
    Squirrel Girl (335/270) - 605

    My 3-star Thanos is at 323/303, which actually puts him pretty close to Dr. Strange. Checking your roster, I see what you mean about the damage being nuts. 37K without the stunning? I assume the damage he does to his own team is also boosted? Even with no boosting, that's nearly 2x what my 5-star does at roughly the same level.

    What are you trying to accomplish / what type of character are you looking for? If you are just looking for fun or the closest, that changes everything.

    I personally immediately went Namor because, on top of being too good, he is very fun and fits on a ton of teams. Of the list you posted... maybe Kamala or Mags?

    Some of the known great ascensions:

    • Namor: Surely one of the best in the game, very versatile and heavy hitting
    • Agatha: Endless protect tile strength followed by cheap 1 shot kill (requires proper teammates)
    • HoneyBadger: Good healer, mucho tick damage
    • AprilParker: Top tier protect tile creator
    • LukeCage: Largest starting / always there protect tile. Less fun, but hits damn hard if you have the time
    • Mephisto: Super defensive tick damage fun (super fun with Badger)
    • Magik: Has some niche greatness, and still better than most the others
    • Thanos: Ofcourtse Death

    Ascend 3-Mags now for Lightning Rounds, then focus on Namor. 3a5-Namor works with any boosted 5-Star

    Yeah, unfortunately you will always lose on defense the majority of the time, regardless of the team you are running, or Frankie. Namor however is actually one of the better characters on defense, at least, if you get him to enough health. Not many people want to get hit by even a single match in the bottom row from a strong or boosted teammate.

    For me, the versatility opens up use of so many other characters, it was worth the grind.
