While I am sympathetic to the devs not being able to test everything, the fact is that they should know (they have character stats if nothing else) who the metas are and it’s not that hard to pair your new toons with the 10ish meta characters, or at minimum wait a month for the players to do it and know how well they will or won’t shift the meta. I suppose Mbaku is a bit of an outlier with Namor but otherwise nothing we have seen recently in meta PvP is a surprise - does the new person add to, or not add to, existing metas?

The Devs are really reliant on data I feel and don’t seem very attuned to player feelings. Ice said they play the game but they are behind the curve on sniffing this stuff out as fast as players. And to a large extent most of us are behind as well. We only know Sam/Juggs is a thing when we see it everywhere. Add on the fact that the Devs also have to justify anything they do to bean counters - if Polaris is still making money then shutting that down is not a problem players have to wrestle with but the player response is something the Devs have to deal with.

I am not sure about nerfing really. You need to have some OP characters at this point probably to give newer people a shot at being competitive in pve etc since the game is horribly diluted. Same old same old.

Some more rocks would be helpful to fight scissors like maybe a character that dmgs you for every special you make, or if you make more than 4 in your turn they team stun everyone. Idk.

Sam Juggs was id’d as probable meta immediately among the top players once they fixed Sam after his like 2nd or 3rd day live. I’d estimate confirmed within a week and then everyone went crazy chasing them. So it wasn’t exactly a tough thing to figure out.

Maximus does that but nobody uses him, and why would they? It's the same problem they always have in this game -- you have 2, sometimes 3 slots to use, so why are you going to waste one on a counter that only works against certain enemies? Polaris etc works against everyone.

They really don't know. It was easy to see that Sam would work well with Juggernaut (I saw it right away and posted a video here!) so they should've seen it before the release. They didn't.

Jane isn’t an issue alone anymore, The Black King makes her irrelevant, and Cosmo punishes her team severely. I will always say Polaris operates more like a Boss character than a 4*. She absolutely does too much with her kit. Her stun should be reduced to 1 or 2 turns, she damages before, during, and after her match, and her tile multiplication should only be on match or be reduced to only 1 or 2 tiles per match. She’s just too much for a 4*.

4* Ascended Juggs should have a maximum cap on how much damage AOE he can do in one turn OR only the first match per turn does AOE damage.

When his AOE damage can be amplified by Iron May and strike tiles it's an insane amount of damage and even characters who are supposed to mitigate it (Francine, Quake, 5* Elektra etc) cannot keep up

They need to just create a 5* character that reduces any AOE damage to 1 PERIOD! It’s a hard counter that they’ve done before with other characters. I.e. Archangel vs Vulture
