By the way, how do you guys rate Elsa? I'm thinking between mid & top tier. You can exploit her red nuke, but the blue is a little expensive, though very useful. The purple traps are just bonus and not a reliable strategy I think.I've gotten to the point where I'll take new 5-stars up to levels 460 to 480 depending on how good they are. For example, I took Sam up to 480 but I'm leaving Juggerduck at 460.
Her blue is one of those niche counter abilities that will keep the character being semi-useful. Her red is decent but at the same time unremarkable. Oh and she does permanent damage to technologists (Sam... Kang...), non-humans (BRB)... not that these characters use a lot of healing abilities or even supports that do the healing for them (BRB being the exception here as he uses either Lucky or Carol's Communicator)
I think she might be sitting somewhere near Archangel in the tiers or something like that because of the niche blue utility

I like to use Lucky on Sam with Juggs because:
- I’m weird and like not running the thing everyone else does
- He gets healed a lot because of the strike spam
- Lucky boosts strikes when the strongest color is matched
So in theory she’d be good against someone like me. 😄

Any teams been particularly useful with her? Not meaning teams that are going to be fast and place you well, but just generally solid partners.

I don't think there is any that is both a Guardian and a trap tile maker, though.
The affiliations she works with are kinda bad, so that doesn't give a lot of room to work with. I'd rather have permanent damage on Mutants and/or Godlike characters than on Technologists, Non-humans and Multiversal.

In Shield Sim, she should do well with Deathlok & May, along with Arc Reactor - Refreshment. You could down anyone on Turn 2, and Perm-Stun another on Turn 3 (best case scenario). That should produce easy wins with little damage taken.
Outside of that team, I can't think of anything

I put her on about 7 teams, and she's not that guy.
She isn't a centerpiece and she doesn't do enough to be a second.
She is a third if you want to do a specific thing...ie not good enough.1 -
Yeah, I want to like her, but she's limited

Just for the record, today the beta mobile players finally got their retro Elsa shards after installing the new Unity update.
Also apparently, her red and blue powers don’t work at all currently.
Edit: I think she’s working correctly now after using her in PvP a bit.

Up next, the three daily quests to use her powers for the +250 shards each...
Any day now...

Well since this last patch, half of her powers don’t even work correctly.
Jeez man.

Yeah, it's more than a little disappointing to play for, pull for, earn shards and covers for a new character who doesn't work.
Trying her out again, and nothing is happening with her red.
I know Unity is taking up a lot of resources but she's got broken stuff, and Captain Avalon's yellow isn't working right.
I have to say it seems important that your new characters work right if that's the main draw/new content you're offering us.
I know we can't pause them or the game shuts down or something? But then Unity is making everything borked.
Seems like a bad situation to be in....

I suspect the reason we’re not hearing much from the Devs is because they’re all running around the office like their hair is on fire screaming about the end-times.
But seriously, which hole do they plug first? They’ve got to start somewhere, and any financial haemorrhaging such as the infinite daily play exploit has to be a priority, because if players have no incentive to spend anymore the game is doomed.
I imagine broken character powers will come in at lower priority than some of the lag and crashing issues preventing players from completing matches successfully. We’ll just have to be patient and wait for them to push out bug fixes. At least the solution for the new character bugs is to not use that character for now. Pretend like they haven’t been released yet. Sorted 👍

I can't pretend to know what the details are but it is probably a condition of their licensing that new characters are pushed out on a regular basis. So it is likely rock and hard place time right now.

New characters are undoubtedly the lifeblood of the game. Consider the amount of care and interest you (in general) put into the game last weekend vs the weekend before that (the one with just a standard set of existing characters to chase).
Anyway new characters mean you absolutely need to use another roster slot because they'll be required for points, you'll need to use iso because they're new, you may spend on covers because the first 13 are the most important to most players, the new mechanics they offer create the potential for new teams, new topics to discuss etc. The business of the game requires them, I get that.
I get that there are no easy answers and yeah how to prioritize when you have one fire company and 10 buildings all a mile apart on fire?
Anyway it's just really annoying to have one of my boosted characters be worthless because she doesn't work right on top of everything else.

Agreed. Not the same thing but I liken this to when they have a 5* boosted and then run a lower tier PvP that locks them out for a few days of the boost week. If somebody just took 2 minutes to look at that and say "Maybe we can swap these guys to avoid that" but it never happens.

If they ever stop releasing new characters, then we'll know they're winding the game down.

I have a feeling that the cover swap tax is doing OK for them too. Maybe not so much at the 5* level but below I can definitely see players using this and I do too. It is especially useful in cases where you can actually make a profit - like max levelling a 4* and getting 1000hp back for the 400 spent.

Further thread derailment: The cover swap tax is "doing ok" in that it is useful, and people use it. A main reason for that is because many vets are flush with HP and also that for a whole lot of people, there is little use for HP that seems compelling via offers or vaults and things.
As far as business/sales the CS swaps ending coincided with a large drop in revenue and from all indications the buy clubs ended (because people who know, say they did) because the CS swaps ended. So yeah, in game swaps? I do them, many do, it's great, but it was a terrible business decision. (There are some people who paid the swap tax for Sidewinder and spent money, and presumably there are still some who will spend to use it but most are using spare HP, I think.)

You say it was a "terrible decision" and that might be true but it might also have been a case that the company saw that being beholden to a small set of players with oversized feelings of being treated with importance AND the now growing hordes of players benefitting from a CS program never intended for them was also a bad strategy. So they rolled the dice and could still win. Of course Unity has and could be a killer blow. I really hope not of course. We shall see.
