Welcome back, everyone!
How are you all enjoying the new quests?
In today’s episode, we’ll talk a bit about the next set coming to Magic: Puzzle Quest.

Spoiler Alert:

The next set coming to Magic: Puzzle Quest will be Ravnica Remastered!

Ravnica Remastered is a compilation set, containing a curated list of cards from all previous sets in the plane of Ravnica. For Magic: Puzzle Quest, we focused on the cards that weren’t previously released in the game.

What about that Universes Beyond set thing?
Universes Beyond sets are based on external intellectual properties, which have their use managed on a case-by-case basis by Wizards of the Coast and the owners of that external intellectual property. For this particular set release, Magic: Puzzle Quest could not be included as one of the supported platforms.

And what does this mean for other Universes Beyond sets?
The development team is working closely with Wizards of the Coast to make interesting products available to the Magic: Puzzle Quest audience. So even if future Universes Beyond sets aren’t available, we’ll continue to expand the Puzzle Quest experience with a content-rich set release schedule, and give players the chance to be surprised and fall in love with the vast multiverse from Magic’s history.

So, where will we be able to use Ravnica Remastered?
We want players to fully enjoy Ravnica Remastered. That’s why it will be legal for use in Standard, Ravnica Block, and Legacy events. This set will become craftable after the release of the Edge of Eternities.

What do you mean by "Block"?
We already have events that allow the use of all sets taking place on the Ravnica plane — plus Origins. Currently, this includes the following sets:

  • Origins

  • Guilds of Ravnica

  • Ravnica Allegiance

  • War of the Spark

  • Murders at Karlov Manor

  • Ravnica Remastered

With the release of version 7.3.0, we’ll be introducing more events using this deck construction rule, so you can further explore the possibilities offered by Ravnica. We’re excited to share more details about these new PvP and PvE events as we get closer to the in-game release of Ravnica Remastered in June.

2025 Rotation
While we’re on the topic of formats, let’s take a moment to discuss the 2025 Set Rotation.

Rotation will take place with the release of Edge of Eternities in-game, expected in early August 2025.

This year, the following four oldest sets will rotate out of Standard:

  • Dominaria United

  • The Brothers’ War

  • Phyrexia: All Will Be One

  • March of the Machine

Ravnica Remastered will remain in Standard for Magic: Puzzle Quest until 2028.

Coming Next
That’s all for this week! We’ll be taking a short break from posting new episodes for a while. Don’t worry — this isn’t the end of the series. Think of it as a break between seasons. 😊

We’ve got a bunch of cool things we’re excited to talk about, and we’ll be back with more updates closer to their release.

See you all in the next season!

Thank you for the post. Nice to have some clarity on what sets to expect in the game for the remainder of 2025.

Good to know what's coming up!

This is what I was hoping for tbh, given that we almost certainly weren't going to get Universes Beyond... It's good that we're getting recent WOTC content (Ravnica Remastered was released in paper Jan 2024), and I like the fact that Ravnica Block will be increasing in size, for events like Implicit Maze.

Great update, thanks WC. I hope we more older paper sets in the future, perhaps NOT getting UB is an opportunity to explore the history of Magic even more!

    This is indeed GREAT news!
I prefer this to the UB content and feel it opens up opportunities for more "block" building and events!
For the next UB sets PQ needs to skip, there's 20 years of great content to add, some that make great support for block structures. In addition to Rav, my family would love to see...

    • original Innistrad block
    • original Tarkir (especially Khans)
    • original Theros block
    • original Zendikar

Not a block connection, but I wouldn't be opposed to Alara either!

So with rotation taking all the Revolving Planeswalk sets out, are there plans for new daily standard events, or will it be reduced to just the Quick Battle. I like the concept of RP, just not the lack of updates to it for two years now.

If we're going to be getting more block events can the rewards be structured so that playing the event helps you collect cards from all of the sets useable in the event excluding origins?

Seize the Day is nice because it gives you Odyssey, Torment, and Judgement packs in the rewards so playing the event can get you all of the non-Origins cards that are legal to play in the event.

Implicit Maze didn't follow this pattern and only gives out MKM packs. So it's more of an MKM event and than a Ravnica event.
