Vulgarity in alliance chat

Short version: someone joined my alliance for, seemingly, no other purpose than to say offensive things. Some SA related, others threats of violence, and lots of vulgarity.
Removed them, but how do I remove the messages?
Longer version: my alliance is basically an entry point. New players join, a few long time players help with advice, etc... Then players rotate out as there roster fills out and they try to find alliances with minimums and rules and such.
Anyway, a random guy with maybe six covers joined and made several inappropriate comments in the chat.
Player has been kicked but his messages remain.
I've been playing this game for over ten years and am only just now having this issue (that's a win) but I've never even thought about needing to delete chat messages.
If anyone has any knowledge on this it would be appreciated as I'd like to get the messages removed as soon as possible.

I have seen alliances just enter "." Over and over again until the messages get pushed out.

@S0kun @MPQBlaine - could either of you help with this?

Edit: posted something totally wrong here!

@Blackstone all of you should send a request for TUs and write a short message of what you need, makes already about 40 messages to push out the trash and you all get useful TUs

I think anyone new who joins your alliance won't see any chat posts from before they joined, so at least you can rest easy about new members. This doesn't solve the problem for players already in your alliance though, and this sort of feature should really be something they prioritize when redoing alliance chat.
I don't believe this is true....but it has been 3 years since I switched alliance. So it could be the case now.
Previously I would hop around and guage alliance participation through the chat. I could definitely see messages posted prior to me joining including buys.2 -

They should still give us better chat tools in game though.

I can confirm that this is definitely incorrect. As a frequent merc/casual in my pseudo-retirement, I change alliances numerous times a week. I can see everything posted (and still new enough to not be "pushed out") even prior to me joining. In fact, I often use that history to decide if I'm going to stick around for a few events or not.

Unless I’m way off, or it’s different on Android, the chat only saves the 50 most recent posts and that’s it.
You could literally type “I’m going to post numbers to get rid of the offensive messages” then post 1-48 one message at a time and then something like “that solves that”.

Unfortunately, I don't see any way to remove a specific chat message in debug so not much I can specifically do outside of outright banning the player.

Others have already mentioned what is probably the easiest, and I agree. Just spam the chat with anything you can think of - type out a few numbers, tell some Doc-Ock knock-knock jokes, write a haiku about your favorite mutant, run a poll on which character has the best hairdo, whatever silliness comes to mind. Do that repeatedly until those nasty comments disappear.

Thanks, I removed the wrong information.

I spammed the comments. Thanks for the replies.

This does bring up an issue and question regarding plans for an updated alliance chat after the new engine is implemented and the chat is updated, and how many messages will be retained under that chat, and whether there will be moderation available to commanders or someone.

They should allow commanders to delete messages with the new engine. But the best thing would be able to set a minimum roster level a person has to be able to join that alliance.

Agreed. I'm a firm believer in free speech but treating others with dignity and respect means being aware of your audience.
It was pretty vile and it's a good example of why moderation is needed within chat apps.
I will reiterate though... This being the first time I've had to deal with it in over a decade of playing says good things about the general MPQ community, in my opinion at least.

The MPQ community that I have encountered seem most really good people when it comes to this sort of thing - in all years playing I am probably the one in my alliance who needs banning for the admitted rare language! I have to admit I was pretty shocked that this happened to you in MPQ terms but glad you have hopefully now got sorted. Match on, matey!

I remember the times when I played DbD, oh boi, that was harsh…

Trash talk is one thing... This was something else entirely.
