Looking at WoTC schedule for 2025, we have Dragon storm and Edge of realty as there main sets. Then a Final fantasy spiderman and unannounced universe beyond. With edge dropping in augest does that mean we won't get new set till 2026? And if Mtg focus more on the universe beyond sets what will happen to PQ?

Dosnt help that wizard has changed set schedule to 3 main sets a year instead of 4 then fill out with standard legal universe beyond sets. If puzzle quest gets 3 sets a year that are close together like they have been this year it could lead to down time were there's no new content, unless they are allowed to add univers beyond sets

A new update from WOTC about paper MTG today which could be relevant!

    https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/through-the-omenpaths-and-digital-universes-beyond-updates

In brief: The Spider-Man set will not be coming to the digital products MTGO and MTG Arena as is; the cards will be reskinned so they are functionally identical but do not feature the IP of other companies in the art or card names.

This will be part of a new policy and procedure called 'Through the Omenpaths', and any set which is not made available in WOTC digital products due to IP issues will instead be implemented as a Through the Omenpaths version.

However, MTGO and Arena will be getting the full IP versions of the Final Fantasy and Avatar sets, and therefore Through the Omenpaths versions of those sets will not be created.

How does that affect us in MTGPQ? MTGPQ is a digital product, but it's not one that's directly run by WOTC and so this policy presumably only affects it indirectly.

It does seem likely that we will get this reskinned Through the Omenpaths version of Spider-Man when it comes out later this year.

But we still don't know what's going to happen with Final Fantasy (due in 2 months!) and Avatar. You'd imagine that whatever licence allows FF and Avatar to be used in WOTC's digital products wouldn't apply to MTGPQ.

If we don't get FF and Avatar as is, what will we get? Perhaps a reprint of an old set like we got with ODY, TOR, and JUD? If so will these sets be Standard legal? Maybe a remastered set like Innistrad Remastered? (Might be fun to revisit a plane like Innistrad and Ravnica and get some new cards with old mechanics in MTGPQ!) Maybe Webcore will reskin FF and Avatar themselves (Oktagon produced their own art for PMA, didn't they ^_^)? Maybe MTGPQ will just die and Webcore don't want to tell us that because they want us to keep spending money for the moment?!!

    I'm on tenterhooks!

    That's a valid concern, @AoMadness!
The next set will be the theme of our next Mana Echoes. I hope it will bring some clarity to this topic. :)
