Freeze after turning off screen

It happened again, this time costing me a perfect Skoti run. Locked the screen as I had visitors, then when I went back later everything was frozen. With soft locks you can usually open the pause menu but this lock doesn't allow anything.
Any idea why this has been happening since the most recent update @Magic:PQ Support Team ?
