What is most funny is that this wasn't even the worst screen from this match, this is just the one I remembered to screenshot.

Devs just don't care. They move on to creating the next character. Too much work to fix bugs for Mephisto or other bugs over the past several years. But the new engine will fix them all!

It sort of makes sense not to care about this at present. It doesn't stop you winning the match that I have seen so it can be put up with. Why put Dev time into a bug if it can be fixed with coding on the new engine. Of course, if it isn't fixed with the new engine then possibly there are questions to answer.

Speaking of ridiculous, I just ran into a player who had "devilman" as part of his name (not full name) and he wasn't using Mephisto! Dude!!!

I was wondering why this was happening; I didn't put it together that Mephisto was involved though.

We've also got some videos that help us dig into this further so I've sent it to our team.@S0kun this has been reported very consistently since November on the official bug sections of this Forum and on Discord with no response from the Devs at all (see for example https://forums.d3go.com/discussion/91157/odd-issues-with-mephisto-5-maybe)
But a cheeky thread in the General Forum seems to finally get the attention it deserves.
Is it better to report bugs in the General Forum than the Bug sections?

I don't really see him most other weeks so this will be done come end of week. As is I probably only had one really bad match so far where the board was jammed up and absolutely refused to follow MPQ rules but still won, so it is more mildly annoying than a massive deal.

True, with 2 Mephistos per match the chance are actually way higher to break something, didn’t think about that, still i hope they fix this faster than Strange Sights door bug

I had a situation today where I tried to match three reds. It told me it wasn’t a match. Highlighting one of the red tiles I got a pop-up saying it was yellow.

Are the Daredevil traps doing something here?
I used Mephisto in the last event and faced him quite a bit but never saw this bug. In the Daredevil event I saw it a ton, though, but ONLY on red tiles. Since Daredevil only makes traps on red, I'm wondering if it's something about the interaction between trap and hellfire tiles.

Good question, i have a lot less problems in squirrel girl event
Could it be that hellfire tiles and trap tiles overwrite each other causing it?

I think you are on to something. It's the interaction between 4DD traps and Mephisto's tiles confusing the heck out of the code.

I'm in the same boat. I'd never heard of this bug until this thread, and then saw it happen to me multiple times in DD's PvP.
It's usually when one of his traps appear on a tile that would normally be part of the next cascade, if that makes sense. Ya know, like: matches remove tiles > new tiles fall into the gap created > passive effects trigger > new matches remove more tiles > rinse, repeat ... and since DD's trap passive technically makes a new tile, I'm willing to bet that's where the bug is. Meaning the trap sometimes registers not as a tile that can be matched, for whatever reason.

Makes sense, the code can't decide what to do given the choice of options and gets confused.
