It's not necessarily an oversight, but simply a rerun of an old event with an updated reward schedule. It's been a while since the original ran so I also thought it was a bug, but that was how it was originally designed. We'd have to adjust this for its next run though since by the time you see an event in game, it's very difficult to remake it and seamlessly integrate into the game in real time. Usually the solution requires rerunning an event, but that's not an option here.

I really like the play mechanics of this event, buts its WAY too easy. It just took a turn or two and Thanos was down at every level.

I haven't got a top roster (compared to the top players, not the overall player base) and I downed him on turn 1 every time. It's a really tough balance to strike to produce a good game mode between veteran players and newer players.
At this point in the game, I think the Boss strength being linked to roster strength or SCL, might be the only way to go but then questions would be asked if the rewards should go the same way, which they can't without reducing the current rewards. So then complaints about having to work harder for the same resources.
I think an interesting debate could be had about Boss Events and thoughts about how they could be structured differently.

Bosses are a tricky thing in the first place; they're low engagement for newer players since they can only go so high, they kind of need to be trivial for most of us posting here so that others can succeed and have fun with it. I thought the heroic split was ideal since it gave the high-end something cool and different to do while new players could work their way up to completing the normal mode.

Sad to see Heroic version gone but if they could add repeatable progression rewards like in Season Pass. Coz if your alliance knows what they're doing the event is done in less than 48 hours and there's no point in hitting nodes anymore.

If you need iso, there is that from the side nodes. Also clearing side nodes can trigger bonus rewards, or should, which you otherwise can’t earn besides from ddq on those days.

And helpful for season quests, too, because of the 8hr reset rather than 24hrs.
