Is there going to be a 4th batch of new ascensions in January?

Did today’s Behemoth Burrito require 4/4/3 rather than the 4/3/2 it usually does? My team was 3* Gwen, 4* Peni, and 4* miles I’m pretty sure. I don’t think I’ve noticed a deviation like that before.

Was your gwen ascended? It has a specific trio that HAPPENS to be 2-3-4, but if you have ascended it'll let you use em.

Ascend has nothing to do with it. Gwen doesn't matter
Miles and Peni are the 4*s

Bag-man would have been the appropriate 2* to use if they wanted to do an all web burrito team, but since he is limited I don’t think he is required outside the April fools stuff usually.

It happened again today (1/7/2024), 3* Miles, with 4* Gwen and 4* Spider-Man: India.

Maybe they realise that with the 2* being a small tier and with people ascending them then keeping the 2/3/4 restriction makes no sense anymore - might as well lean into the 4* tier more. I am sure they have metrics or whatever.

True. Mind you when I asked about a mythical 4.5* tier to help with 4 tier bloat I never expected their answer to be "Not quite the direction we are going in - EVERYBODY AS A 5*!!!"

So who knows what evil plans lurk in the hearts of Devs?

The trend of making not-really-Latests 4s frequent rewards and essentials in pve continues, as Mister Negative shows up next event after being rewards/4E just Dec 21.

It would be nice if there was some explanation or statement of intent.

This is however only the 3rd time since his release that Mr Negative has been 4E/rewards. So, maybe they are making up for the expected ~4 times you would see a Latest-3 4 star in pve during the 12 weeks they are one of the Latest 4s in tokens, in an LLLCC (C=Classic here) pattern for essentials.

January was the last thing we heard, as I’d quite like to know when the last 1* is going to be given their 3rd power

Now we have Peni Parker showing up in pve as essential. The newest 4s in tokens are: Dr Bong, Spidey India, Moon Gitl (until 2 days from now when MM enters). Dr Bong hasn’t been an essential since he was released, I don’t think.

I just put a bunch of levels on Big Wheel and Sersi and was looking forward to their next boost weeks. That dream is now crushed. Hopefully, they’re boosted again on a week that features Brand and Wasp.

Well, you can find out in about 23 weeks.

I assume the boost weeks tend to repeat to some degree (they did before) but obviously as you add more characters to the tier you change the grouping at least a little.
