Ashiok, Dream Render vanguard not working [investigating]

The Ashiok, Dream Render Vanguard is not preventing fetch. Opponent was able to cast 'Deploy the Gatewatch' without any problems. The vanguard should have discarded any cards fetched from the Library.

    As extra info: the mechanic of fetch-to-hand works fine and is addressed by the Vanguard as it should. The fetch-to-battlefield (or anywhere else) is the one that the Vanguard doesn't address.

    Both cards work as intended.

    Ashiok VG does cause opponent to discard fetched-to-hand cards.

    Deploy fetches card to the battlefield (same as move to battlefield)

    Please do not change Deploy as there is no error or bug on either of these cards.

    Card wording needs to be clarified to reflect this or correct the error. In the past this vanguard ditched all fetched cards. Was a hot vanguard at the time it was released because of that feature. Forcing you to draw and cast to avoid losing cards.

    Wording now, "whenever your opponent fetches a card from their library, that player discards that card. "

    It doesn't say fetch to your hand or fetch and play onto the battlefield.
