We've been planeswalking for 30 years with Magic: the Gathering. Visiting new planes, knowing unforgettable characters, remarkable mechanics and strategies, and it all happened because of our passion for the cards. To celebrate this, we asked our player base what are the cards they are most passionate about, and during this event they await you to remember these slices of history together!

SPECIAL RULES

Each of the five available encounters brings a slice of Magic: the Gathering's history told by the cards selected by our player community. Win all of the colors to unlock a new challenge at the sixth encounter.

OBJECTIVES

Akroma, Angel of Wrath

  • Win the Fight!

    • Win the fight against your opponent!
    • Reward: 200 Mana Runes, +5 Score

  • Veteran

    • Cast 2 or more creatures with cost 15 or more.
    • Reward: +3 Score

  • Loyalty

    • Activate a Planeswalker ability 2 or more times during a fight.
    • Reward: +2 Score

Force of Will

  • Win the Fight!

    • Win the fight against your opponent!
    • Reward: 200 Mana Runes, +5 Score

  • Recruit

    • Cast 2 creatures with cost 10 or less.
    • Reward: +3 Score

  • Assault

    • Deal combat damage 6 or more times during a single fight.
    • Reward: +2 Score

Phyrexian Obliterator

  • Win the Fight!

    • Win the fight against your opponent!
    • Reward: 200 Mana Runes, +5 Score

  • Destroyer

    • Destroy 3 or more opposing creatures during a fight
    • Reward: +3 Score

  • Sacrifice

    • Have 3 or more creatures you control destroyed or exiled during a fight.
    • Reward: +2 Score

Shivan Dragon

  • Win the Fight!

    • Win the fight against your opponent!
    • Reward: 200 Mana Runes, +5 Score

  • Comeback

    • Take 50 or more damage during a single fight.
    • Reward: +3 Score

  • Survivor

    • Win the fight with 30 or less HP remaining.
    • Reward: +2 Score

Survival of the Fittest

  • Win the Fight!

    • Win the fight against your opponent!
    • Reward: 200 Mana Runes, +5 Score

  • Resilient

    • Take 40 or less damage during a single fight.
    • Reward: +3 Score

  • Millstone

    • Have 20 or more cards in your opponent's graveyard during a single fight.
    • Reward: +2 Score

Sliver Queen

  • Win the Fight!

    • Win the fight against your opponent!
    • Reward: 200 Mana Runes, +5 Score

  • Basic

    • Cast 3 or more creatures that have one or more Basic Evergreen abilities.
    • Reward: +3 Score

  • Color Challenge

    • Win this encounter with Planeswalkers of each of the 5 colors.
    • Reward: +2 Score

    This looks fun! However can you clarify how a player can complete the Color Challenge objective on the Sliver Queen node? The way I read it, it will be like the story mode challenges where you need to play it multiple times with different walkers to complete the challenge. Is that correct?

    Yeah, there isn't a PW with 5 colors yet...lol, just 3 so we have to at least play the color objective twice...I think. Thanks for making entry free!!

    Yeah it is nice to see a random unexpected event of some quality to pop up once in awhile with an update. It's nice that this one is using the legacy format also, and I mention this because I don't have many decent cards of every color for making standard decks right now.

    If you have spare orbs, clean up your lower rarities now. Since I had all common, uncommon, and rare cards in the set, I was getting non-dupes exclusively in mythic and masterpiece rarities the first time around. In a handful of times through this time, I will be to just masterpiece packs.
