I found one website that lists 277 Marvel pirates, including versions of Alex Summers, Howard the Duck, Benjamin Grimm, Janet Van Dyne, and Jessica Drew just to name a few. Unless this clue is a swerve, I only have 2 theories:

1) With the new Shang Chi trailer having been released, there was a Fin Fang Foom pirate. Seems like a longshot but at least timely/relevant?
2) Buccaneer is another word for pirate. 4* Tom Brady? No, Tom would definitely be a 5*, the refs would make sure of that.

I am all for Fin Fang Foom but the idea of a pirate version just sounds more like it should be a costume than an actual release.

Loki has already had a turn this cycle, even though that was way back in December. He's not getting skipped, he's getting dropped in an extra time so they don't skip someone. Same thing with Jessica Jones last time. She'd already had "her turn", so she was being used again for the 5-star release so nobody skipped.

The classic example are the Starjammers, their leader being Corsair (Cyclops/Havok's dad). They've been around forever, and are space pirates. The closest modern example are the Marauders, which are lead by the Red Queen (Kitty Pryde), and features a bunch of X-Men already in the game (Emma Frost, Storm, Nightcrawler, I think Bishop, etc).

Based on the June theme , a lot of the characters focused on that month have been called something like Pirates . It could be related to one of those characters. Or Johnny Depp or a Caribbean character, it is Disney related

I think it might be Red Guardian.

4* Pirate is scheduled to debut on 15 July, not 8 July. Red Guardian could be to mark the cinematic release of Black Widow. Still, seems a bit strange to meet him again, as you say. Personally I was hoping for a 5* vault with Natasha, Yelena, and maybe Jessica.
