Deadly Vanity - not invoked but not bringing back reinforcements [Can’t reproduce]

I have two questions about Deadly Vanity. Does it bring back reinforcements from all previous exiles or only the reinforcements that were exiled by the most recent casting of Deadly Vanity? 

Even if it is the latter, it is not working because it only brings back 1 copy of the creature without reinforcements. I did not invoke the card.
