Are you going to try and pull for Kitty on your old account (183 pulls)?

I'd be interested in some of your circumstance(?) info.
In the beginning you used to give a little summary, days played, shield rank, scl played, # of slots, etc etc.
I understand that its day 248, but what rank does that bring you to? Which scl do you choose to play? How many roster slots have you filled, and how many of those are dupes? Do you have all characters rostered, if not who is left to get?

OK, I didn't know there was still interest in those things, so here it is:

    Day 248 Update:
    Rank 110, Slots 155
Production Rates per week: approx 375K ISO, 3500 HP, 200 CP, 5 LT
PVE - SCL 8: Rank top 10 or top 100 depending if I have the 5e
PVP - SCL 9: Rank top 25, with a score between 950 and 1050 nowadays using 2 shields (1 hop)
SHIELD SIM - Float around 1700 pts, finish with 2100 pts
    1*s - 1*Juggernaut + 6 slots to farm XP from 1* covers.
2*s - 5th farming cycle done, next cycle will start soon
3*s - All champed between levels 195 and 223, no dupes.
    4*s - All rostered, 13 champed, 7 @ 13 covers, 6 @ 12 covers, champs between 271 and 280.
    5*s - 10 rostered, Kitty @ 380 (4/3/3), Cable @ 300 (5/5/1), Loki @ 280 (5/5/3), Kingpin (1/3/0)

Curious: where are your LT coming from? Crash every 5 days, plus the first champ level on a new 4* champ, and what else? I am seeing 25 or 50 CP build up each day depending on the event changeover between pve and pvp, but not gaining LT.

They do, but there is a big gap between level 167 and 227 where they don’t, and @bbigler said his are all below 223, similarly his highest 4* champ(s) are at 280, the others would only have received their first LT  champ reward.

You would occasionally get LT from VIP rewards too

@abenness Good question, you're clever to have seen the disconnect there. You're right, my 3*s are not yet in the upper champ rewards of 227+ but they're getting close. Here's the breakdown:

    1-2 LT from Crashes
    0-1 LT from VIP
1 LT from new 4* Champ
    3-4 LT from Vaults

During Christmas-time I purchased 2 Starks; the first load of HP was quickly spent on 40 packs, but the second load was spent far more slowly and wisely. I've been making about 3K - 4K HP per week and spending about 7K - 9K on vaults. I have enough HP to buy from 2 more vaults, but then I'll be out. I could probably sustain buying 10x from every taco vault, but I would need to purchase HP to continue with the PVE vaults. So, with 1 stark purchase in a buy club, I could get 140 CP plus enough HP to pull all LTs from vaults for a month.

Fair enough. Trust me, the reason this is at the very front of my mind is I am madly scrounging for LL pulls before Kitty rotates out, and have had a very dry run of 5*, yet alone her (still at 3/2/5 over a number of weeks now).

After Kitty is out of Latest, I’ll just have to be patient until she rotates around for a classic store (hopefully not red, but that would be up next I think...), also keep her as BH, and hope for a feeder.

But, I can truly say I’ve done as much as I can to get her covered.

@bbigler, if you decide to level your Kitty higher, can you pause at 405 and let me know the state of pvp teams with her at that level?

Also keen to hear your plans post-Kitty, whether you start hoarding, or ???

Day 261 Update: Things are rolling along very well with building my 4* roster up, but I'm not sure what to do next in order to move into 5* play. Maybe I'll figure it out while I'm writing this. But first, here's my current performance and roster so you guys know where I'm at after 261 days:

Roster: 3* champs are between 199 & 230, so more LT rewards are starting to come in. I have 15 x 4* champs with Domino and XFW being the latest. For the Sinister 6 event, I tried out a "winfinite" combo with them plus 3* Mags. It kinda worked. I then switched out Mags with Kamala and that worked much better. Once it gets going, it's almost endless tile destruction and cascades.  This was purely for fun, because my Gritty-GSBW team could blaze through the boss battles.

I have 10 more 4*s that are ready to champ, and that backlog keeps growing.  I haven't pulled any LL since Kitty left, so my 5*s are still: Kitty 5/4/3 - 0 saved, Cable 5/5/1 - 6 saved, Loki 5/5/3 - 2 saved, Kingpin 1/3/0. So just for the record, I was 1 cover short from fully covering 3 x 5*s on Day 254, which was a total of 371 pulls.

Performance: Gritty rules all. I'm scoring between 1000 - 1050 for PVP using 2 shields and 1 hop. I recently leveled Kitty from 380 to 385 to see if anything would change. Surprisingly, it did. The opponents I can queue stayed the same (no 5* champs) but I started getting attacked by single 5* champ teams. It didn't happen all the time, but enough to annoy me and I'm hesitant to retal. 4* team attacks are rare now, so I can still climb just fine. I've also noticed that I'm climbing higher than other teams at my MMR level because at 1000 points my queue is mostly filled with <10 point options, so climbing is very risky then. Shield Sim is a breeze; I'll only mention that I bring Dazzler out when climbing at season end because Gritty is everywhere.

Lately in PVE I've been playing SCL 9 when I don't have the 5e character, otherwise it's SCL 8.  But I'm working on an analysis to figure out which of these options maximizes my rewards: SCL 7 top 5, SCL 8 top 10, SCL 9 top 50. This analysis takes into account the difference in progression, placement and node rewards for 3 days. I'm still rockin' Gritty-Thanos for PVE, but I'm going to use Gritty-Dusa for Support Circuit to save health packs. Last week, I ran out when I still needed some.

Production Rates: Approximately per week: 425K ISO, 3500 HP, 200 CP, 7 LT.  In the past 3 weeks, I've averaged 15 LL pulls per week, which is amazing to me, but I don't know the best way to use them.

Future Plans: I like GEDoom, but can I fully cover him in the next 17 weeks? Hmm.....18 + (17 x 15) = 273, so theoretically yes, but I would need to get lucky. Everyone is expecting the next 5* to be a meta breaking Marvel, so I could hoard until Cable and Kingpin are out. If Marvel is awesome, that would give me 23 weeks to hoard & pull for her, which calculates to 353 pulls plus 10 or so more pulls from 4* champ rewards.

What about my existing Loki, Cable and Kitty??? Should I level Kitty to 435 and see how it goes in PVP? Should I wait until I can champ her? I should be able to rank better in PVE if I level her up though. If I champ Cable, can I form a good team with him using either Vulture, Bishop, Valkyrie, Chavez, Carol or even Kitty? Is that any better than my existing Gritty team? Is Loki worth champing? I'm not sure about any of this and I'm afraid to enter 5* MMR with a weak team. There's also the possibility of entering single 5* champ MMR, which is why I'm considering Cable + 4* teams.

Having your Kitty coverage at 5/4/3 is pretty-much optimal for a non-champ build.  Why not try some of the single-champ-5* retals and see how you go against them?  Albeit at a lower level, I'm not scared anymore of Okoye or GladiaThor or DD, because I know to just keep them at the back for a few turns, them smack them down quickly once my Gritty strikes have been boosted (even better if I have an attack out or Medusa's Entanglement).

I've seen discussion elsewhere about how Okoye is a well-balanced character because she is strong on offense but weak not strong on defense, and I think the same applies to these other guys - they might be great in the meta when you take them in with lower health and have them generating their AP or strikes from the start of battle, but it is different if I am attacking them from their full health, and have a chance to wind up before knocking them down.

However, I recognise that I am not seeing the health difference that you might - of a 385 / 435 level Kitty against champed 5*.

I also agree on your PVE pondering, I am in exactly that spot myself, running SCL9 but missing Hawkeye this event.  I figure even a top100 results gets similar placement covers, but better progression rewards. And if I can squeak into top50 for a 4* cover then that's great too.  Waiting to see who is the 5e for the Magik release event, hoping it isn't GED..

I'd also propose that your next goal should be 1200 in PVP events, and maybe it is necessary to increase your MMR to get there?  I'm finding now that I can hit 900 in about 30 wins with Gritty, and then I make plans to try to shield out in top25 or higher for the 3* covers. But if higher MMR allows you to queue up juicier targets, maybe 1200 is viable?  Wouldn't it be nice to be able to try Kitty out at the higher level but drop back down if it didn't work out :)

    Thanks for the update!

    abenness, unfortunately it is GED
Yep, saw this later a couple hours after the Magik release announcement.

There goes my main hope of picking up multiple covers from high placement in SCL7 or 8.  Maybe I'll go SCL9 again and hope not too many have GED there, top100 shouldn't be too difficult for a release event, although I'm not looking forward to the Sentry nodes at higher levels.

Day 270 Update: I did it! I've fully covered 3 x 5*s in less than 300 days. I pulled from the Favorites store to finish my 5/4/3 Kitty, and after 11 pulls I got a red cover. My previous bad luck covering Kitty has "evened-out". The total number of pulls to cover these 3 x 5*s was 382, which is a lot more than the 300 pulls that some people still mention. So, is my restart experiment done? Not yet, another goal is to champ those 5*s and enter 5* play. But it's not as simple as that....

I've covered Loki, Cable and Kitty. Champing Cable and Kitty and then playing them in PVP would leave me massacred by other dual 5* teams.  Champing just Kitty would do very well though and is certainly competitive in that MMR. If I can consistently hit 1200 points with a champed Kitty/Grocket, then do I consider this "entering 5* play?" I set a new personal best in this last PVP reaching 1,114 points and ranking #8 with a level 405 Kitty.

For academic reasons, I want to slowly level up Kitty to 450 and see how my MMR changes. I view dual boosted 4* champ teams as an "easy" win now. They're easier to beat than single 5* champ teams or "near champ" Kitty teams. Near champ Thorkoye teams are easy too, but a champed Jessica is a legit threat though. Unless I can get a killer 5* pair, I'll be staying in the single 5* champ MMR.

Some other points of interest: I did a PVE reward comparison between ranking top 50 SCL 9 and top 10 SCL 8 for a 3 day event and the results are very close, but here's the breakdown:

PVE Top 50 SCL 9 for 3 Days:
    1,500 more ISO
    2,375 more RISO
    3 more Tokens
    1 more CP

PVE Top 10 SCL 8 for 3 Days:
    50 more HP
    1 more 4* cover
    Equal 3* covers

This analysis takes into account node rewards and sub placement rewards, but I did exclude alliance rewards.  I'll gladly trade the ISO, tokens and 1 CP for a 4* cover and 50 HP. Plus, SCL 8 is easier/faster to play. I'm planning to also compare rewards with Top 5 SCL 7.

Another point of interest is that I looked through my bank statements and added up how much I've spent on the game in the past 9 months to get to where I am now. Surprisingly, it totaled $797.69 for all VIP memberships, HFH bundles and HP purchases.  This is a lot, but far less than whales spend. Seriously, whales spend like $500 a month.

I'm always thinking about my future plans / goals in the game, but for now I'm going to ride the champed Gritty team and maximize my rewards with them.

If you divide it out it's only $21 a week, which is reasonable for this "hobby"

Are you planning to spend on other bundles in the future or are you going to limit your spending to VIP or just a $2 purchase every month?

    Interesting. I've spent A$297.84 over 282 days.
Being Australian dollars, they don't go as far, 14.95 for VIP, 30.00 for Logan's loonies.

I am chuckling at the dollar-per-day average - there is a very interesting 8-part series on Venturebeat talking specifically about this target level of spend (specifically CEO of Demiurge talking about MPQ)

So you spent 21 bucks per week with the intention of quitting as fast as possible.
And that's ok, because there's people who spend more.
    Yeah, makes sense.
