Akroma's Vengeance

Got this from a Premium Pack, but Hour of Revelation already exists. So my question from the developers is this

Why did you guys feel the need to introduce this effect again at MP level? Both cards are essentially the same.

This one draws 2 cards too. Doesn't that feel like a big plus?  B)
Joke aside, it is really a terrible masterpiece. Card draw is whatever in MTGPQ.
That being said I don't think a cost reduction would be very healthy. We saw how oppressive Wrath of God became for people who had it.
Urza's Ruinous Blast feels superior in my opinion. At least you can build around it... though admittedly a lot of good card right now are legendary...

It is technically better than Hour or Revelation since it's the same mana cost to include two card draw. Also if this is a card you would play, consider that Hour of Revelation is from the oldest set still in standard while Akroma's Vengeance is from the newest. So it's your replacement for the same card once Hour of Revelation rotates out.

And both cost more than The Great Aurora.

Yes, I already know both of those things.

The part that makes it Technically better is not good enough to be counted imo. If it was dual colored though. Akroma herself is red, right?

Akroma is both'ish. Akroma, Angel of Wrath released in Legions 2003. Akroma, Angel of Fury (red) released in Planar Chaos 2007.

You what is a terrible Masterpiece? Pernicious Deed. That's a turd sandwich if I've ever seen one. Yech!

Really? I thought people would find use for it.

Does it destroy itself on green activate?

Would not surprise me if it did. Haphazard Bombardment does - even when there are other supports on the board.

I think you guys are missing the true value of this card.

Akroma's Vengeance in Karn, with Descend Upon the Sinful, Hour of Revelation, The Great Aurora, Wrath of God, Bontu's Last Reckoning.  You could make the most annoying decks ever!

It would be great! Oh so great! Bestest deck ever! Definitely not sarcasm. :)

Planar Chaos isn’t cannon, though. It’s all creatures from alternate timelines.

Deed is ****. It's the masterpiece I grabbed. And yes it destroys itself too. It's pretty much a slower and worse vengeance though a means for black to deal with some supports. Removed starfield at least and deals with stacked enemy supports...
But it's very bad in practice. I am literally better of playing dual colored to gain access to support removal. Anguished unmaking was a much better card and it cost only 12..

Akroma is white, the red akroma is an alternate reality version of her :)

Sadly they only decided to include one akroma amongst the elites.
