App store doesn't have ver.144 to update [Solved]

I want to play and the app keeps telling me great news about an update, sends me to the app store which doesn't recognize an update

I figured out what went wrong, thanks

    Last night I saw a player post that he could not update in iOS until he deleted the app and reinstalled it.  I don’t know much beyond he said he has an iPhone 8. 

    For the record, my iPhone 7s updated fine (running most current iOS version).

    I have no idea if updating to the new iOS is required first, or helps in any way.

    I'm assuming iOS 11.

    Swiped down from the updates screen to refresh the list.

    They made this dumb change with iOS 11.  There's at least one thread like this every time (I made one at once point).
