Wow.  So they know it's an issue but won't fix this. I bought it because of this BH rate. I bet the BBB (Better Buiness Bureau) would have a field day with the fraudulent sales practice the Demi/D3 is doing with this.  You can fix it but are not and not giving the customers the rates that are posted. How do you think this is right for you to do a hot fix to get this corrected.  You did with the Gambit vault.  You did with the $2 for 7CPs, well except for 1 person......, you did for the HE release vault when BH was set at a high percentage.  This one doesn't deem too important to fix.
Why don't we ask them and find out?

Anyone who bought HP with IRL money talk to CS first, if they refuse a refund submit a claim.
Already raised a ticket and got a canned "we will not be able to provide compensation" response. So now I'm moving into the next step.

I also got the canned response,

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue that you are experiencing. We have informed the developers of this issue, and they will be sure to investigate this problem in the future. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances of this issue, we will not be able to provide compensation on an individual level. If the developers choose to provide compensation, it will be done en mass.

@Brigby Can you comment on if this is in the works.

    If not,
This is a case of false advertisement. This company directly profited off of misleading the customer and not delivering what was advertised.

If they choose not to make it right you should know your rights. As well as BBB this could be reported to the federal trade commission if you are in the US or corresponding organization in your home country.

Federal Trade commission complaints can be filed at:

So like, did you guys notice how fast people pounce on tokens when the odds are bugged but displaying correctly and decide to use it as a sales tactic?
@Jarvind here is the difference.  When the LT rate got messed up for the Gambit Vault, it was displayed right.  So you got what you "paid" for by using your LTs and CPs. Now did D3/Demi want that?  Heck no. But the rate was correct.  This, the rate is wrong and they admitted it.  So you bought this token pack under false advertisement and CS told me the same.  Tough luck. Nothing we can do.  That is not right.

Pretty much what I meant by "sales tactic," the implication being that this was done on purpose.

Especially after establishing a precedent of "the displayed odds are the REAL odds"

I guess just have to report the charges as fraudulent to iTunes/amazon/google. Have a better shot at getting some to listen to you.

Knowlingly providing incorrect information (not marketing puffery, but real definite information) in a sale advertisement in order to induce sales is basically the text book definition of fraud.  D3/demi may not he doing it intentionally if the display issue is a bug, but they are definitely doing it knowlingly given this post.

It's a pretty borderline activity, imo.  But consumer law is also not super friendly to consumers these days.  I would still suggest that demi/d3 solve this issue asap and offer refunds for those who both spent cash and purchased black vortex token packs since the store went live

Also, i wouldn't expect them do anything.  The odds splash page has been potentially innacurate since february 2017 and they have done nothing (select just a single 5* favorite and the odds page on mobiles tells you that you have a 1:20 chance at that 5* with any LT.  The odds are actually 1:133.33repeating).  Even brigby has stopped responding to me when i point this out.

If the displayed odds can be different from the actual odds, how can we ever trust the displayed odds? What if this has happened before? What if the displayed odds have shown the correct odds but the actual odds are much worse? How would we ever know?

Hi Everyone. We apologize for the confusion, but please understand that we made this post, to inform players of this display bug, immediately once we discovered the issue. This bug was absolutely not intentional, and we were not trying to mislead any players.

We have just returned to the office after the weekend, and are currently discussing how to address this issue. Once we have come up with a decision, I will update this post with any additional information.

Thank you for this update brigby.

Please consider making some sort of announcement in game to help everyone that isnt on the forums, and you should also consider offering compensation via CS for those players that bought HP specifically for the purpose of buying black vortex cover packs.

And on a more general note, I would once again urge d3 and demi to fix the odds splash page once and for all.  Please go back to something like the old setup with a list of each character next to a simple percentage reprensation of the odds of getting that character.  And if the odds of getting that character are so small that they would appear as 0.0%, then maybe you should consider adjusting the token system.

I know that bonus heroes and low individual character odds were a challenge for the old token odds splash page, but the new page is actually worse than nothing because not only does it contain less information, what information is present can be misleading or outright wrong.

I genuinely doubt that specific change created any unintended consequences. By which I mean said consequences were quite intentional.

Intentional or not is not the issue. At the heart of the matter is I spent money based on what was advertised and at the end of the day D3 has my money and I did not receive what I was told I was purchasing.

I think the appropriate response would be
1 refund all HP spent on token packs for this event.
    and/or
2 Issue a token pack for each purchase that has the odds advertised.

Yep, I've stated my opinion before.  This can actually be an actionable legal matter for false advertisement.

Agreed.  In addition, it is not only false advertising but it displayed incorrect odds for a "game of chance".  Just ask any casino in Vegas what would happen if they accidentally posted the wrong odds for a short period of time and then shrugged their shoulders and said "oh, well".  Now, would any lawyer take this case?  Probably not.  But what they did is NOT innocent by any means and should not be swept under the rug if they want to remain a legit business.

Hi Everyone. We are certainly not trying to sweep this issue under the rug. As a matter of fact, we are currently finalizing details of compensation, and are anticipating rolling it out tomorrow. Thank you for understanding.

So, will we hear something today?
