If I wanted to freeze I wouldn't live in Florida...

So I'm trying to play the OGW event for their third time -- because everyone knows I love this event -- and it's the arctic.

Every match is choppy and freezing -- it wasn't like this the first two times I played. What gives?

Server maintenance is scheduled for tomorrow, hoping that will fix things.

    Didn't experience this.

    Is it device specific?

    No problems here either.

I'm getting a lot of choppyness. Asking around my coalition it seems to be Android users who are affected. Because of course we are.

I experienced a very sluggish World Breaker match. I was using Kiora. It was the only match that was choppy for me though. I'm also using Android.

It was sluggish right from the beginning of the match, so it wasn't like the board got flooded with anything like trap tokens.

Edit: Hang on, just fired up a match against Cyclone Sire to get the second objective.. and yeah, sluggish at times.

I'm using Android and not affected as far as I can tell. I'll try it on my iPad later when I get home.

It was on my iPhone. It was fine, then it was choppy then it just froze.

I hard closed and went in again and it did the same thing with a different PW.

Only the event is affected and my team is having trouble as well.

    nothing to worry about
its all part of new UI redesign

    Some users = 1 user.

Everything else I have to say will just get turned to tinykitty.

It's official. This game is utterly unplayable.

My alt account plays in an iPhone, and it's had two severe freeze/stutters and then crashes. Android isn't having nearly as severe problems, but there is noticeable lag.

This event is even worse than last time. Twice I thought I wasn't going to be able to continue. Had to lock the screen and go back to it.

My iPhone glass house has been shattered.

I definitely need to buy some winter clothes.
  • I noticed that only few cards slows the games, for example talent of the telepath.
  • I've now lost event Node 3-2 twice in a row due to the game crashing and restarting on me. The more energize nodes there are, the slower the game gets, until it finally just chokes on itself and turns off. When I won the third try (which, with 8 hour retries, literally means it took me 24 hours to do) I was racing my own device before too many energizes take over.

Considering the Artificer event that's scheduled on the 30th, and Energize is required for all of them, I expect the same thing to happen then. This game just became unplayable under these circumstances.

The only other time I see any slowdowns is when casting Deploy the Gatewatch; without fail, 100% of the time the game 'stutters' when that spell reaches full mana before casting. At first I thought it was related to a cascade, but no, it could be as simple as an off-color match 3; if it's enough to cast DtG, it lags up.

I thought they were just balancing Deploy the Gatewatch by making it hang for a while.

Deploy the gatewatch, energy gems, season spring, part the water veil, many fabricates, talent telepath, cascades seem to slow the game down to a crash. Not sure if that is caused by amount a of animations. anything that fetches basically.
Game was flawless before kaladesh update.
The game is so slow and sluggish for me, it takes me longer to finish a game

I was away for a while and when I came back I was sincerely dissapointed, this wasn't the MtGPQ I remembered and was very fond of. Hope it gets fixed.

Anecdotal but I had crashes in every single round but 3 of the latest event

Sure I'm running an older phone, but crashes used to be easy to predict (tapping too much to speed up animations, etc)

Now I get crashes when I draw a card for turn, or when my opponent plays any card ~4 rounds in.
