Definition of 'match' is inconsistent

When you destroy a line with a match-4, do the extra tiles count as being part of the match?

With 5* unique tiles (Black Hole, Motivation, etc), they do not, and they are destroyed.
With Fortify tiles, they do, and only the fortification is removed.
With 3* Daredevil's blue Countdown tile, they do.
With X-23's trap tile, they do.
I believe there are other examples.

Please make the terminology consistent within the game.
