Can I soft-cap my 5*s without ruining scaling?

I use my lv 405 OML all the time, but my other 5*s have been left at lv 255 to avoid scaling problems. However I do have a decent amount of championed 4*s in the lv 290 - lv 280 range. Can I level some of my 5*s up to 280-ish without suddenly being put in awful scaling with pve and pvp?

I ask because I'd rather use my 5*s in pve than my 3*s and 4*s, but at 255, my 5*s are too weak to accomplish much. I'd like to at least level them up to 280... I just don't want it to ruin everything for me!

Has anyone done this before? Did it turn out okay, or were you suddenly facing lv 400+ enemies in pve and max-champed 5*s in pvp left and right?

I hate that I even need to ask this question lol.

I'm wondering the same thing, mainly for SS for me. a 5* sitting dormant with 11 covers is a shame. I have a 4 at 290 and would love to take ss up to my top 4's level if it won't bork anything. really don't want to bork anything though.

I think as long as you keep them below what a boosted 4* would be you should be fine. I have my 4/5/4 Phoenix soft capped at 360 and my 3/1/1 OML maxed at 330 and I have zero problems other than PVE scaling going nuts from time to time.
