My 3* roster recently reached ten fully-covered characters, equalling the 10 fully-covered 2* I've had for a while. Of course, I have 11 fully-covered 2* because I rebuilt a Bullseye after the 2* got a third power, but that's so recent it barely counts.

The ten 3* characters with 13 covers:

Groot
Storm
Deadpool
Beast
Blade
Captain America
Daken
Spider-Man
Wolverine
Sentry

A couple of those I wanted all along - Deadpool and Groot, notably. A few have grown on me - Daken, Wolverine, Blade and (after I learned how great his red/blue are), Captain America. Storm I like well enough, Beast and Spidey I'm ambivalent towards, and Sentry is a walking argument for inertia. He's on my roster still because he had so many covers that it didn't feel worth just cutting bait. So now he's 5/3/5 and don't ask me.

Coming up fast on Fullcoverlandia:

12 covers:
Falcon (5/5/2)
Human Torch (2/5/5)

11 covers:
Iron Fist (3/4/4)
Mystique (3/5/3)
Thor (4/5/2)
Colossus (3/3/5)

Another 6 at 10 covers. Sixteen 3* between 11-13 covers and six more at 10. Given the time elapsed, am I behind the transition curve? Ahead of it? Right where I should be?

And who's a guy gotta bribe to get some redflag.png for Human Torch, greenflag.png for Thor, or yellowflag.png for Kamala Khan, anyway? icon_e_biggrin.gif

*Would be more, but I took a few months off after the introduction of Steam cloud saves, where my PC roster got overwritten by my weaker laptop roster, causing me to quit for a few months

I have no idea where the usual transition curve is at and can't remember where the timeline for transition suggested by the devs is, but...

Top 25 in the upcoming Cyclops pvp gets you a red Torch. Go for it! icon_e_biggrin.gif

Somewhere in the first couple events of this season I got moved from brackets I could compete for top 25 finishes in to brackets I clearly could not. That's probably not happening for me. icon_lol.gif

Top 25 has been tough this season due to the new progression rewards, which has everyone pushing to 1k. If you can do it, try for 1k, then make one extra hop - that's usually good enough for top 25. Otherwise, maybe gamble on joining a late bracket and making a mad rush?

Or just join a different end time than usual. End times filled with X-Men is a pain to hit top 25 end times without them even Top 10 is pretty doable.

My ceiling is typically in the 600 range somewhere. That was good enough last season when 650 or so was getting me T10-25 finishes, but the brackets I've been in this season, top 10 starts at around 1100. My roster just isn't strong enough to get much past that 650-700 range because only two of my 3* are higher than 104 at all (by design, to this point).

Then it's down to joining late and hoping for a newish bracket. Good luck. icon_e_smile.gif

But honestly, if you have good fully covered 3*s, try bringing them up to a higher cap - maybe pick 2 that will work with Cyclops and level them. No need to max them out, but I think you have a broad enough roster to stand pushing up your average some without hurting pve, and it will really help your pvp.

I'm not in the school of thought that says "tinykitty pve, pvp is all that matters!" - I also have an evenly levelled unmaxed roster, but levels do help in both pvp and pve.

    i'm on day 237. i have 1 maxed 3*, 2 @ 11 covers, 2 @ 10.

seems like you're doing pretty well.
  • Day 600+ (about to get the next Cage reward), zero fully covered 3*s, a few with 8-10, and a small bunch with 3-7.

Congrats, you're doing better than me.

  • Day 260, 4 maxed 3* (BP, LCap, Daken and Groot, none of them optimally covered) and another 8 or so very close, soft capped at level 140. Looks like you're doing just fine.

I have no idea where the usual transition curve is at and can't remember where the timeline for transition suggested by the devs is, but...

To summarize, the devs projected timeline was:

Transition to 2* roster – couple of weeks
    Transition to 3* roster – 1 to 3 months
    Transition to 4* roster – 6 months

Link to original forum topic of timeline

Day 158, I have 2 fully covered 3*. I earned the last cover for both a week ago on the same day. BTW, Kamala's yellow is up for grabs in DDQ if you haven't gotten it yet.

Yeah, there was definite "yoink" going on with that. I've had it circled in my spreadsheet for weeks, hehe. She still only has two covers in yellowflag.png though. /wistful sigh

I'm not in the school of thought that says "tinykitty pve, pvp is all that matters!" - I also have an evenly levelled unmaxed roster, but levels do help in both pvp and pve.

The underleveling for me has been almost entirely a function of "community scaling ruins my day enough, why would I compound that by increasing personal scaling?" If that actually is permanently turned off - and the last word I heard was "we're gonna do one more test and if that goes well it'll be off for good" - then I'll be ready to start leveling my 3* beyond 104.

But I just don't enjoy PVP. I had a few events last season where a couple hours at the end was good enough to get me placement rewards AND two tokens from progression, and if that's how PVP was for me all the time, maybe I'd play more. Instead, what I'm finding this season is that while the scoring changes have made it so that I can reliably reach the 300 point token again, the amount of work I'm having to put in to reach the 650 point token is...meh. I can DO it, which I couldn't before, but it takes long enough that I can't just join a couple hours before the end if I want to be able to get there.

And that's all PVP is worth to me! Something to do for a couple hours after I've done a PVE clear, get some ISO, get a couple tokens, maybe a placement reward. I just don't enjoy "competitive" play where "single player" game mechanics are involved. It feels forced to me.
  • Day 206 - all 2*'s maxed, 8 3*'s fully covered though a couple need respec, another nine with 12,11 or 10 covers. All of those are at level 120.

I'm missing a lot of covers for the newer 3*'s though as I had to take a break from the game for about six months not long after Beast was released. I don't have a single Blade cover. icon_cry.gif

Love this game, have a lot of free time and play it a lot. icon_e_biggrin.gif

So much has changed in the game it's hard to say, but I'd go with behind the curve if you've not level maxed more than two. All depends on how much you played each one of those 348 days.

A NorthernPolarity classic, "Roster snapshot thread" viewtopic.php?style=1&f=7&t=3306&hilit=roster+snapshot

My very first forum post asking when people were able to field a full 3* team (about 450 days played ago now) viewtopic.php?style=1&f=7&t=5958 Of special note, IceIX with just a 2* roster at 167 days.

I COULD have level-maxed at least three by now if not for the aforementioned scaling-related reticence. I've spent the ISO instead leveling my entire roster uniformly.

I need, oh, 978k ISO to get my fully-covered 3* to max, and another 500k or so to get the rest of my 3* to their respective soft caps. If I only maxed out the ones that I leveled beyond 104 before I realized that pumping ISO into them exclusively like that might be bad, I only need about 233k ISO.

I, uh, have 12.8k. If I'm behind where I "ought" to be, I'm gonna be there for a while. icon_lol.gif

Are you part of an alliance? And/or do you play very casually? Because at 600 days you really should have several fully covered 3*"s by now. (not trying to rub it in, sincere question to see if any pointers can be given to help you expand your roster a little).

Personally I'm on day 423 , but I did take a break of almost half a year from the game somewhere in between. I have all but 5 3*'s cover-maxed, with Grocket proving my most elusive 3* at 8 covers. For 4*'s, I have two maxed, 2 at 12 covers, 1 at 11, and the rest of them are in the 5-8 covers region, except for my 4-cover devil Dino (my break period included the anniversary week, unfortunately).

Day 319 and my 3* roster is

12 at 13 (4 being fully covered the way I want, the others do require one or two covers to reach perfection)
    5 at 12
    6 at 11
    6 at 10
    3 at 9
    2 at 8

All 104 with about 800k ISO ready to spent if I snap. I suppose I'll get them up to 114 when I reach 13 for about twenty guys.

The rest are 6 very much undercovered mostly recent characters (Quicksilver, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Iron Fist, and the odd Doc Ock which covers elude me).

NB : I have acute collectionitis (I still have every 2* including an underleveled but fully covered Bagman and three 1* for DDQ) so whenever I got a new character and not enough HP I did pay real money to keep them. It happened three times during the first six month, now I generally win enough HP to roster the few guys I missed.

What's weird is I remember getting, although not keeping, Devil Dino. I took my break after that. But my daily login isn't yet up to 365, so I'm wondering what's going to happen when I hit that.

You should be getting your 3 Dino covers at 365+ as well, since everyone gets those. I also had one cover waiting for me after I logged in again after my break, guess they sent that to all active accounts.
