Simulator Tokens

Sooo um, is this how it always was?
There is another thread out there somewhere, those sim tokens are giving crazy 4*'s! I have gotten 3 4* covers from sim so far, out of 4 tokens (other was an IM 40, which i trashed, no roster room).
We did not get an answer on why these tokens were so lucky.0 -

It's just statistical noise. Some people are pulling 4*s (which they'll give out ~2% of the time) and probably just about everyone getting a 4* is posting. I've pulled nothing but 2*s from my simulator tokens, so my total from the entire event to date is just a little ISO and a handful of boosts.0 -
I'm sure the tokens are giving exactly the percent they say they are giving and not crazy 4s0

nothing but 2*s for me, but oddly enough they are ALL avengers... are they trying to let people gear up for ultron?0

You may regret kicking IM40, as he will most likely be an essential for at least one node in the Ultron PVE that's coming. If how I interpret what has been posted so far is correct. Though, depending on the rules, this may be able to be offset by others in your Alliance having him to cover that node. You just wouldn't be able to help with that particular one.0

Statistical noise.
My recollection, from back when I played competitively with CL, is that there was a lot of variation on coin pulls. Sometimes, there'd be a pretty even spread matching official rates, other times it would be complete poop, there were a couple weeks I had exceptionally good pulls (multiple 4-stars when I almost never did otherwise). But here's the thing - it's not exclusive to any event. The times I had droughts and couldn't pull anything other than a bagman, some other alliance members were getting awesome pulls. The times I had exceptionally good luck, some other people in the alliance kept pulling bagmen. But the average was always in line with official drop rates.
So it's pretty random. I'd always pat myself on the back when I got awesome stuff after particularly grueling matches and tell myself that was the reason, but the reality is that it's mostly just luck. You simply notice the good pulls more after a tough PvE since you feel like you worked hard for them, in addition to being like "this is AWESOME!"
Of course, back then 4*'s really were just collectibles, as it was pre Fury, and neither IW or XF had been buffed yet.
If you want a sense of what kind of luck you're having, you can grab one of the token tracker spreadsheets and keep track to make sure the game's being honest. Chances are, you'll find your spates of bad or good luck are counterbalanced by each other over time. For most people they even out.0 -

Yeah, it seems like it. I had nothing but 2*'s from the sim tokens too. It's cool though - I haven't really bothered chasing the 4*'s for any particular reason. I have enough 3*'s that are fully covered and desperate for ISO.0 -

I have trashed probably 7 of his covers by this point, he was totally useless... until this event right here, where is a required. The forum goers had me convinced he is pointless from everything i had read... oh well.0 -

I have the same viewpoint you do, as I'm only siting on 2 yellows for him and nothing else.
However, from what I just read in another thread, it looks like ALL versions of a character will be available to use for their Essential nodes. So you could sub in 1* Ironman if you have him or want to build up one from standards. Sounds like Hawkeye might be one of the essentials too, so I guess I have people to pick up myself, lol.0 -

Low men on the totem pole for me are Beast, who just got buffed and LDaken who is a good character and has consistently been the rarest character for me to get. so that sucks...
EDIT: Oh, and IM40...who I will also need for the essential...0 -
