DISPARITIES IN PVP
Hello Everybody.
I expose my problem: in all PVP, in every last day, my points are about 450-500 .. and in a few hours (although meanwhile I play and I win ) random battles make me lose 100-200 points .. every 10 minutes during the all day .. and I always arrive out of the first 100 positions ..
How Groups are made? It's absurd that Game put me (i have all characters below level 100) with people who have characters at level 166-270.
It's impossibile for me to win the 3* character
Can you make Groups more balanced ?
Thank you
Ale Kalel

Up to a certain point, players are matched up against others who have similar win/loss records. This usually means enemy teams will have similar levels as yours, but it could also include stronger teams who lose a lot more than you, and weaker teams that have managed to win more than you. This win/loss record is often referred to as MMR.
When your score reaches around 580 (not sure what the exact number is, and it may change in the future), you will start to see more opponents who have much higher MMR than you. You could think of this as your team entering into the semi-pro league, where competition is tougher but you could earn better rewards. Once you reach 800 points, MMR stops to matter at all, and you will be matched up against other teams purely based on their event points. This typically means you will see maxed 4* teams everywhere. You could call this the pro league. The semi-pro / pro analogy doesn't hold up perfectly, but it's one way of looking at the system.
To successfully compete at the higher score range, you have to use shields. It takes strategy to use them well, and using them at the wrong time could waste your HP for no benefit. One strategy is to climb as high as you can to reach a stable point, then wait until the last 3 hours of the event, and then climb as fast as you can again before putting up a 3-hour shield hopefully before getting attacked too much. Many people do this, so you get attacked a lot more in the last 3 hours. Other strategies involve using multiple shields. Be careful because even the 3-hour shield now has an 8 hour cooldown period before you can use it again.
Competing as a newer player is difficult. But the bright side is you will usually have easier brackets than the veteran players. Veterans get grouped together in the same brackets such that they are competing among themselves for the ranking rewards. They have to earn much higher points in order to rank well because everyone else in their bracket also has high points. This means there are fewer top level players competing in your normal brackets. You might see max level teams when you cross 580 and 800 points, but they are probably not in your bracket. It is harder to win matches as a newer player, but you you can rank higher in your bracket with a lower score than what the veterans normally get. This is one way that the game tries to make things easier for new players.0 -
This is what the game gives you. Why punish the people who have played longer by making all of their brackets death brackets? I have played for 260 days and have finished top 50 I think 6 times. Usually I finish 70-90 range. The person that complains that their 2 star roster can't compete with 3 star rosters is the same the will complain that their level 127 shouldn't be up against 166, or that their 166 shouldn't be up against 4hor and x-force. As a two star roster you have PVE to easily compete in with lower scaling.
We have all had to grind away to get to where we are. I get tired of people complaining about how their roster isn't good enough to compete with those that have put in the time to develop a roster.
:end mini rant:0 -
the problem I have set is different: The Game can not put me (with my roster) in the same group with people who have roster with characters at liv. 166 or 270 .. because there is no competition0
-
There's not supposed to be. Your roster is not supposed to be able to compete with mine. You are not supposed to win PVP; or even place well. Keep grinding. Level up your 2* characters. Play more PVE and win 3* there. Try to get the season reward 10 pack by scoring 300+ in each season PVP and 1000+ in shield sim (it can happen). I've been playing nearly a year. I have a usable roster, but most of my characters are not maxed. My Goddess and XForce are not maxed. I compete, but barely and it costs me more HP than it does others. I lost first in the Coversquirrel PVP to a guy with a better roster that started in the last 3 hours. Does it suck? Sure, but that's the game. There will always be someone better than you. Stop crying and start playing more/better/smarter.ale kalel 1981 wrote:the problem I have set is different: The Game can not put me (with my roster) in the same group with people who have roster with characters at liv. 166 or 270 .. because there is no competition0 -
It's like any competitive online type game. Leaderboards go from the game overlord to the guy who just started today. The more you've played, and the better gear/loot/charecters you have from playing, the better equiped you will be to climb up the leaderboard.
Sometimes you'll get lucky and get an easy group, or can poach points off some one who tried climbing too high for how their roster is. Other times you will be beaten down to the ground over and over.0 -
Jamie Madrox wrote:Your roster is not supposed to be able to compete with mine.
To be fair, you ARE Jamie Madrox. We CANNOT compete with you.....or bad things happen.
But to the OP:
It works to have better rosters in the same bracket because to a point they dont see the same opponents. The opponents for both a 2* and 3* roster will get harder as their points go up, but the difficulty at any given point score is not equal. At, say, 400 points a 2* roster will be seeing non maxed 2* and 3* while a 3* player will be getting the weaker maxed 3*s. I know that as a 3* roster (with one covered 4*) I see a whole bunch of 2x 270 fights after 600.0 -
i made this post in feedback and suggestions but it seems more people read General.
As it stands right now pvp team diversity is lacking, most of the time is the same team Xf and 2 other characters and now 4* thor is popping up. Would PvP not be more competitive and Diverse if 4* had their own event while still being about to use any other combo for said event but not be able to use the 4* character in the 3*-1* and under event.
Taking the 4* out of normal Pvp would force people to use their rosters more and find more ways to use different teams instead of just Xf, LThor blow your opp. away games, why have so many Toon's on a roster just to have them get hardly any play time except for when they may be powered up in a Pve or Pvp event also with this new format Reward distribution can get an overhaul.
PvP needs a shake up when it come to what characters are the main driving force of wins0 -

Sorry? Are you serious? Do you think it is normal that game put me in a group with you? you play since 1 year and you have all the characters powered! It is obvious that I can not compete with you ... THE PROBLEM IS THIS: the game have to put me in a group with people of my level0 -
No, the problem is: you're competing for the same rewards.ale kalel 1981 wrote:Jamie Madrox wrote:

You can compete with others for lesser covers, no problem.
But if you're going to get the same rewards as me, you'd better be prepared to do battle with me.0 -

sorry but the game creates groups of 500 people .. I'm only saying that in my group there wouldn't be people who have roster more stronger than mine. The 500 people should have similar roster.0 -

Well, the game has been around for over a year. It has operated like this for over a year. Sorry that it doesn't cater to how you think it should operate. We don't think it's that fair either, but we deal with it. If it is too much of a problem for you, and too unfair for you, this might not be the game for you.0 -
There really needs to be a way for 2* people to progress to 3* or...4*, without ruining the meta game for those that want to compete who have been around longer. At the moment PVE really isn't helping with the progression, and PVPs are virtually impossible. I don't know what to do about that.0
-
At this point, leveling your 2* to max level is, simply put, stupid. You will not normally get into top100 range. Which means all that levels do to you is increasing level scaling in PvE. If I would be starting game now, I would level my chars to max 60-70 and focus on PvE. PvP is pointless past 15% token range.0

how covers are distributed and the % of how that drop has changed since most of you older players stared this game, the fact that 2*-3* transition has become a slow creeping grind fest were we are fodder in pvp because the of the xforce, ladythor group is bad real bad.
some of you are taking about roster competition, act as if you use your whole roster to compete in pvp when you just use Xforce or Lthor and 2 other 3*s
if 2*-3* transition players have no shot at fair pvp play for their lvl, then D3 needs to put up a sign that tell all new player don't even bother playing this game0 -

You start fighting people at your own level and below and fight your way up the ranks. If you plug in COD and go online you are playing against people who have been playing much longer then you, and have unlocked all the best weapons and know the map. How is this any different?0 -
I'm a 2-3* transitioner, and while I do wish that matchmaking were a bit better and maybe some other tweaks, for the most part I am ok with how PVP has been going. I use how far I am able to go in PVP as a sign of my progression. I saw a big difference when I got my first maxed 2* team, and saw another one when I finally got Blade to 127 and just started to be better than a 2*. I expect to see the same once I get a maxed 3* roster. (in about a year and a half, lol)
I do wish matchmaking were better so that I wasn't still seeing max 3*s even after I've been beat down, but really the bigger issue for me is that rewards need a rework. The changes to PVP Prog were a step in the right direction, now they just need to carry it over to the SIM (where its difficult for a maxed 2* roster to even reach the 2* rewards) and tweak the placement rewards.
They could make Placement for PVP:
1 - 3 4* covers
2-5 - 2 4* covers
6-10 - 1 4* cover
11-25 - 3 3* covers
26-50 - 2 3*covers
50-100 - 1 3* cover
Which would help both 3 and 4* progression.0 -

the difference is that Cod did not change what weapon drops at what time, MPQ you have to wait for covers to come and the Hope you win said cover in COD i can choose which weapon i want to work on and lvl in a decent amount of time0 -

I don't think they really want 4* progression to become that easy. I've suggested doubling all rewards:
T200 alliances - 3* cover (should have happened long ago)
T200 - 3* cover (helps 3* transition from 2* land)
T50 - two 3* covers (faster 3*, finishes transition)
T2 - two 4*'s (hey, at least 2nd feels better)
They should also give heroic tokens for less than (current) T-100, since the 2*'s are pretty worthless even for 2* teams - you get those with every third PVP match. Then take those heroic tokens, and have them drop a 3* about 10% of the time and a 4* 0.5% of the time - that will also help both transitions.0 -
flux1281 - fair enough. a good counter to a poor comparison.0
