Devs, can we please have female characters that don't suck?

Something just bugs me real fierce knowing that Psylocke has stronger strike tiles but people would pair her with a character just to bring down her Red and lose out on them.
I play it way different. I try to get a few red strikes out early(Tattken, Logan, or DaKitten, etc. etc.) but then if the AI manages to eat enough of them and leave 1 or 2 left *BAM!* Psychic Knife puts out a super strong strike at a steep discount!
Then the Murderblade gets REALLY murder-y0 -

Just to emphasis, her ability to double dip on Strike Tiles with Espionage and her ability to snatch enemy AP, on top of her ability to heal is why she was, and still is the best 2* support character. Point blank, most female characters are not powerhouses. I can think of....four off the top of my head? And even then, three of them aren't psychically strong, so it wouldn't make sense for that to correlate to raw strength in this game either.0 -

I will not deny most females see as much play as Loki and Rags and Daredevil, the worse, by far, male characters. It is, in fact, the whole point of my argument. Good to hear that you agree.
To guide this into a bit more constructive direction, who would you suggest should be to top notch females?
- Spider Woman?
- Jean Grey?
- Gamora (to jump on the GOTG train)?
- Some villain (there's a distinct lack of femal villains
- Someone I probably have never heard of?0 -
Pylgrim wrote:So, forced to play with Bag-Hulk it's driven hard into me how much she sucks. I hear that some people have their uses for her, but when your best characters are ones that have abilities that put special tiles in the board, she's even worse than dead weight. It also sent me thinking how with the earlier release of Captain Bagvel, the double-nerf to an already mediocre Storm, and Bag Lady being the only remaining sucky 4* character, the only pseudo-viable female character in 3*-and-above land is GSBW. Psylocke is ok if you don't have anything better (i.e. almost every single non-Loki/Daredevil male character), I guess. The best female characters are 2*s, OBW and c.Storm, but Moonstone is the second worst 2* character. And which is the unarguable worst character in the whole game? That's right, a female, Yelena Balova.
So now that you are done with a round of buffs and nerfs, can we have another in which female characters are given more relevance? Or can we please have a new, truly powerful, tournament-worthy female character?
EDIT. It may have not come out as clear as I intended, but I am talking exclusively about their performance in PVP.
I'm sorry, but She-Hulk is in no way as bad as bag-man and barely worse than Hulk. Worse than dead weight? Her red is a great ability, her blue is great for any team who doesn't use special tiles (how many blue skills are decent?), and her green heals/cuts ap of the opposing team. While I feel her green is slightly weak, most characters have a strong green so I don't see a problem.
You completely gloss over Psylocke and Captain marvel who are not bad characters.
Who are you comparing them to? Pre-nerfed Mags and Daken? They are out now. Thor and Sentry?
Is your complaint that there are no OP women? I can see that, but that is about it. There are more male characters than female in this game, maybe you should total them up and see how many are bad for male vs female per capita? Before true healing OBW was up there with C.Mags and Spidey with OP. If you were 2* you had to have her, period.0 -
I know this was briefly mentioned earlier, but it seems to me that Phoenix would possibly make for an overpowered female character. In fact, I think the devs may be missing an opportunity here in that having a couple versions of the character (e.g. "Jean Grey", " Marvel Girl ", "Phoenix"). That's at least three opportunities to get a non-sucky female toon in there.0

I'd love to see Spider-Woman as a character, but I hate to think of which cover they would use.IamTheBiggs wrote:I think the devs may be missing an opportunity here in that having a couple versions of the character...

1* Marvel Girl, 2* Jean Grey, 3* Phoenix Force.0 -

Let's be honest, if that's in the mix, that's the 1*.0 -
D3 is idiot to nerf M.Storm0

Nice that you picked up the too suckiest in my list and left out 'all the other non-top notch male characters', and then included the joke option DD which I never mentioned...yeah, I guess....my point was that the problem isn't so much one of no decent female characters but that only a handful of characters really matter at the very top (and yes, incidentially, all of them are male). What needs to fixed first is that this group gets much larger and I'm sure females will be among those.

I picked those two out of your list of four, because the other two just don't belong with them. I see Spidey ALL the time in PVP. I myself play with him because he's a nice complement to Punisher. I don't see Doom as much, I have to say, but usually when I do, I go for him first because he can kill me quicker than anyone else with his demons. I already posted a list of characters that could be chosen for a really powerful female, but I'll post them here again rather than make you search. Jean Grey (any version of her), Mystique, Emma Frost, and Scarlet Witch. Maybe new Thor, too.Dauthi wrote:Pylgrim wrote:So, forced to play with Bag-Hulk it's driven hard into me how much she sucks. Thanks for reading only the OP and none of the posts in between. Most of the points you raise have already been discussed.0 -
I frequently use Psylocke, 3* Storm sees a lot of PvE, and I'm buiding up Captain Marvel now. She-Hulk is decent but could do more damage with red IMO.0

PERSPECTIVE. That's really what it's all about.
I understand the OP's standpoint. In the realm of 3* characters, there are 5 female, compared to 20 male characters. Of those, 2 are so new as to not even be in regular rotation, as far as acquiring them from Standard/Heroic tokens. Psylocke is arguably the best of the bunch, and at best she's a Utility player. None can compare to the Top Tier One-Man-Armies that is LThor, Sentry, LDaken, Black Panther, and Patch.
But, Perspective.
While the majority of the users of this forum are 3*+ or 2*-3* Transition players, I'd guess that at least 80% of the players of the game are 2* or below.
For these guys, OBW, CStorm, and Modern Storm are among the Top of their Class.
That is to say that female characters are very good, for the greatest number of players. From this perspective, female characters far from suck.
The title should rightly read: "Devs, can we pls have female 3*'s that don't suck?"0 -
Females that dont suck? Sad world lol. Upgrade Yelena! Cpt Marvel could use a boost too imo0

WHAT are you talking about!? Psylocke is my favourite in the game. After a couple of turns you can have your entire team doing 3x as much damage!
Grey Suit Widow is also awesome....maxed out sniper rifle kicks **** and she's great coupled with a Thor or a Hulk!
Mohawk storm also great.
I think all the characters have their uses (altho I agree she hulk seems pants but I havent levelled her at all) but u need to think about which characters to best pair them with to get the most out of their abilities0 -
oh and Scarlet Witch would also be a good opportunity to have a super damage dealing female (along with Jean of course)0

NighteyesGrisu wrote:Kelbris wrote:PEMN
You using GSBW doesn't make her come close to contending with Thor, it means you use GSBW
She's a much quicker defense loss than Thor due to low HP and no speed to make up for it
Well, duh, of course it doesn't. But it does mean that at least for me she doesn't suck, which was the point I was contending. Same for the two other BW all Storms, Psylocke and She-Hulk. None of them suck, which is was the OP was claiming.
Of course she's not a match for thor but then nobody really is. Why they choose to nerf Mags, Spidy, Daken (twice) yet leave him alone probably is only clear the devs, I guess (note, I'm not petitioning for lthor to be nerfed, in fact if I had my way there wouldn't be any upcoming nerfs at all, but that is another story). Btw, who gives a damn about defense anyway?
Long story short: While the game could use a top notch femal character, claiming that all or even most of the current ones suck is just silly.
btw, what does PEMN stand for?
Personal experience means nothing
The reason I compare GSBW directly to thor is they have the same function; a decent red that still pales in comparison to the other powers, a great ability that generates a ton of green, and a high damage green AOE.
Thor just does it so much better that there's no reason to use GSBW over him unless she's required, and with their overlap there's very little reason to use both unless you're doing some GSBW/LT/Daken team. ... That actually sounds pretty nasty.
Also, generally defense doesn't mean ****, but high HP and speed (low cost/high damage) make a huge difference if you decide to make a shield hop for top 10
Thor just takes longer to kill.0 -
I just want to add little discussion about comparing thor and gsbw.
Thor is better in Pvp coz of his large hp and overall raw damage that he delivers on every skill.
I'm a heavy user of GSBW and i personally love using her in PvE, especially when paired with laken (super buffed).
I used gsbw/laken/hood almost exclusively during round 2 of the current simulator and worked flawlessly for me.
Thus i think gsbw is better than thor in PvE because it's 5-15 green tile dmg + 2-3 crit tiles + sniper damage + cascade + special tiles clearing.0
