Current pve: We ain't winnin Nick Fury...

This pve made the hard core crazies like xmen gain interest in the before now forgotten genre of pve. Therefore it's now a bloodbath in which non "50 buck a month for shield hopping " players have no chance, unless of course you are a newb with under 30 days played where you face easily beaten pve teams for your carrot cover of fury to keep you playing for " easy covers". Well played devs.

You can't P2W in PVE. So...

    This.
  • You can always do better by spending money but it's pretty cost prohibitive to spend your way to the top on PvE. It doesn't help that Daken is usually unavailable in this event, cutting off the most broken combo money can buy.

    Sure you can.

    Health packs.

Two unlucky boards can eat all your health packs. Being able to insure that you can play every node every 2.5 hours would make things a lot easier.

You're still beatable, but it'll help a lot.

Not to mention that people can buy a max covered character in the PVEs that utilize newbies (e.g. thick as thieves; Deadpool)
  • Quick, someone play the world's smallest violin while we all shed a single tear over this grand injustice. icon_razz.gif
  • PvE's are won by not sleeping and having free time.

Having money to buy healthpacks to keep it up after some bad luck helps a little, and helps a lot more than usual when there are two subs at once, especially the big fat hulk nodes. The whales definitely have an advantage here, and the very top players will take the top two spots... which is pretty much exactly what is expected.

But honestly, if you aren't willing to wake up every two hours or have to work eight to ten hours a day, top ten was never a realistic pve option.
  • And don't forget that the guys that spend most money have already bought fury covers and maxed him so can relax on this PvE......
  • I looked at it and said "screw this". I have work, I have to spend most of Saturday in the studio recording the other half of my band's album (with my phone turned off, bc no phones in the recording room), I have an instructor workshop, I'm seeig m parents... No, I'm not gonna grind for top ten. If there had been a cover for top 50 or so, I might have done it. But this isn't worth the effort. I don't have the time to grind enough, so it's just pointless.

I'm still trying because why the hell not, but I'm under no illusion that one Fury cover is going to do squat for my roster other than "hey, I'm one step closer to having a usable Fury next year."

That should hold true for most of the 2* players. It's a nice carrot, but the Psylocke/Hulk/Spidey covers are [probably] more helpful for your immediate growth.

Not to mention that one hulk pve has better rewards than the entire season combined. Pretty funny
  • Aside from being in the wrong forum section, I'm not sure why the down voting. I've seen a lot worse ranting/venting than this over much less.

I usually do well in pve's, but good chance I won't get fury. Has more to do with people playing better, odd sub lengths, and odd reward structure.

It doesn't really matter what alliances are playing because no alliance fury reward and regardless the number of players on your bracket hasn't changed. If not x-men, you'd have someone else there.

So you're saying that they balanced it the D3P way! icon_lol.gif

Slightly off topic, since Nick Fury is a PvE award, does that mean in the next PvE we'll get a specific node that requires him (& that also he'll be able to be recruited in special packs)?

Where are these Hulk covers you speak of?

No clue, but i would think Fury would be buffed at least. I would still think that Psylocke would be the require cover for the special nodes.

If/when we hit the global target a new node will open up on the main map with the opportunity to win a Hulk cover (and I'll probably get green knowing my luck!)

It's always been green, as I remembered on the 2nd time round for this event, I needed either red or black, but ultimately "received" 500 iso's.

Last time, there were four hulk covers on that node: 2 green, 1 red, and 1 black. Like you, I could not beat the odds and got green.
