Less PVP points than 'advertised'

Maybe I missed this question being asked elsewhere, in which case apologies but...

Recently when I've been playing PVP I've seen a lot of examples where my actual score is different to the score I see being counted up at the end of the match. I haven't been attacked in the interim it just seems to arbitrarily reduce the number of points I have.
As an example I had 516 points and fought someone for 24, at the end of the match it counted up to 540, so far so good, but when the event screen came back up I only had 531. I hadn't been attacked, I checked the leaderboards and it showed the same, 531 points. Where did the other points go? This happened to me quite a lot, I estimate I must have left more than 40 points behind somewhere in hotshot yesterday.
The only thing I can think is that the team I beat were also beaten by one, or more, other teams just before I won. Since their score then went down, the number of points I got for the match also went down. It just seems strange that I would have fewer points on the event screen than I just saw being counted up to.

Any answers/explanations appreciated - thanks!

I saw the same things! But the difference was a little bit smaller - from 3 to 5 points. And sometimes i've got more points then i should.

i think, the point additions tallies up to date scores; i've had that happen to me and also in other way, where i wanted to score from x90-x99 but instead bumps me to next hundred instead.

I saw 3 things related to this:

    - As you said, the real point gain/loss is computed at the end of the match, while the estimation is shown at the beginning. If your opponent score changes between the two, it will change your result. Same thing:if you are attacked and you check the retatiations points as soon as you see it. Say, you can win 25 points by attacking him back. If you suspect he is pushing, wait a few minutes/hours. The score shown before your battle is still 25, but if you were right and he was realling pushing hard, you may win much more points.

    - The real point win/loss are decimal values, such as +24.8 points, and are only rounded for display. That would explain why I often finish with 1 or 2 more points than by strictly adding both values.

    - Sometimes, there seems to be a lag in their servers. The points shown are wrong, and are refreshed later. But most of the time, you can check the leaderboards to force a clean update of our points.

In your case, the first points is more likely what happened.
  • The points you get are from the rating the person you attack currently is.
The score it says on the node you want to attack is never updated so you wont get the points it says.

    Example:
If you have a node with a player on 600 and he's worth 25 points and you let that node sit for a day.
The next day he might've went to 800 or dropped to 400 but the node will still say 600.
So u don't get those 25 points but you get points from the rating he currently is.

Long explanation for a simple answer but i'm bored at work so wanted to tell a story.
